Jesus, when speaking of the truth that sets free, said: “Most truly I say to you, Every doer of sin is a slave of sin.” (John 8:34) Since Adam and Eve sinned, every individual who ever lived has been a sinner and thus a slave of sin. The only exception was Jesus himself, and Jesus’ sacrifice released believers from that slavery. True, they were still imperfect and sinful by nature. Now, though, they could repent of their sins and beg forgiveness on the basis of Jesus’ sacrifice, confident that their petitions would be heard. (1 John 2:1, 2) On the basis of Jesus’ ransom sacrifice, God declared them righteous, and they could approach him with a cleansed conscience. (Romans 8:33) Moreover, since the ransom opened up the prospect of a resurrection to endless life, the truth even freed them from fear of death.—Matthew 10:28; Hebrews 2:15.
In a wonderful way, Christian freedom was opened up to men and women no matter what their situation, humanly speaking. Poor people, prisoners, even slaves, could be free. On the other hand, the high ones of the nations who rejected the message about the Christ were still in slavery to superstition, sin, and the fear of death. We should never cease to thank Jehovah for this freedom that we enjoy. Nothing the world offers comes close to equaling it.

Hi,
John:8:32...Jesus himself is the truth that sets us free(8:36)He is the source of truth, the perfect standard of what is right. He frees us from the consequences of sin, from self-deception,and from deception by satan. He shows us clearly the way to eternal life with God.Thus Jesus does not give us freedom to do what we want, but freedom to follow God,Jesus perfect truth frees us to be all that God ment us to be.

Good grief!! You don't know??
It's meant symbolically, and the truth shall set you free!! In other words, don't bother with avarice (lies) and prefabrication(lies again) but simply tell the truth and your life will be so much easier, sure, it will be a lot more confronting but hey, what are you, chicken legs or something!! lol........... jus kidding ........... The truth is always the easiest story to remember and will also lead you down a path where you will discover a new respect for yourself because you will realise that people really are a lot more resilient than what they are usually given credit for!! ..........:0)

You know. "The" truth. Like, it's the Truth, man. Like wow, man, it's just, there, ya know? And it's the truth. And it's free, yeah! It's the kind of truth that you don't have to pay for. It's not available in any stores, man. It's so groovy if you think about it.

That we are free from sin. The law was given to teach us about Christ, our need for him, for a savior, for a shepherd. The law makes us servants to sin because if we break one law then we've broken them all, making the law our death, but Christ makes us free from the law of sin and death. Sin no longer has dominion over us, as believers in Christ. We have a vision and we press toward it, forgetting that which is behind and crucifying our flesh daily, we reach forth unto those things which are before, Christ in us, the hope of glory.
