The question is...what give us our salvation in the first place? Is it our works or the finished work of Jesus Christ?

Does Jesus pay for ALL our sin, or some of them?

There are many reasons someone can get hooked on drugs, some of them legitimate. Regardless, we are told that we as children of GOD will not face any temptation that HE does not give the ability to resist. If we do not resist, HE gives us 1 John 1:9 to restore our fellowship, not our salvation.

I have added two links below. The first one tells clearly how we are given eternal life.

The second one tells about The AWESOME PROMISE OF CHASTISEMENT

BOTH are important.

If your friend knows God and talks to God all of the time then he or she knows that the body is a temple of God. God does not want us doing things that harm us. Addiction is a chain the enemy uses to keep us tied down, but there is wonderful healing power in the blood. I think that your friend is being convicted by the Holy Spirit to give up the addiction. I would point this person to a church with an overcoming addiction ministry. Just remember God knows us from the inside out. He knows what is sincere and what is a lie. Nobody on this board or anywhere else can tell you if you are going to Heaven or hell the only one who makes that decision for you is God. Also remember Christ forgave the thief on the cross it is never to late to ask for forgiveness.

Only God knows for sure. The Bible says that a "drunkard" will have no part in the Kingdom of God but we as humans can not know the eternal destiny of someone who professes a faith in Jesus but who doesn't live a life that we might think demonstrates a true relationship with Him for sure.

On the one hand, the person to whom you are referring could just be a "professing" believer who has been deceived by the Devil who masquerades as an angel of light and they don't really know Jesus God's eternal Son.

On the other hand this person may just have an illness or a besetting sin where Satan has gained a stronghold in their life and God will eventually deliver them either in this life of the one ahead. You have the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15 that teaches that God doesn't give up on his children who stray from Him and get caught up in that kind of lifestyle. You ought to pray for your friend to be delivered and healed in Jesus' name.

If a person is saved he will go to heaven. If he takes drugs or indulge in any other sin it means that he has not used God's abundance of grace and gift of righteousness to reign in life (Rom 5:17). A believer who sins loses out on enjoyment of his abundant and kingdom life on earth. He loses out on God's favor, power and blessings working in his life on earth and the joy of the Lord is not his strength. Our salvation is make us live well on earth as it is in heaven. As Jesus is so are we in this world (1 John 4:17) and we can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us. (Phil 4:13).

lets start with theconcept of rapture. its false, and is nowhere in yourbible it isn'tgoing to happen. and about this saved bit. really, if this guy was saved as you say, wouldn't he be miraculously cured of his addiction. He isn't saved, and finally, does he love god, No, there is no god to love. So, no, he isn't saved because thereis no god to savehim andthe rapture is n'tgoing to happen because its fake. Stop giving your money to some rich preacher, and go buy yourself some chocolate, you'll feel better.
