if someone told you you had blue hair, it would not matter because you knew this were untrue. when something bothers you, it is because inside you have your own doubts. answer their points( not trolls but people who bring up genuine points), and if you have no good answer then where does the problem lie?

Dear Azrael A,
As a Christian i sometimes face the same dilemma on yahoo answers. However, the way that i think about it is that this a forum where people are free to express their opinions. Yes there are abuses of the way this forum is supposed to work and people do make racist and ignorant comments that may not necessarily reflect the particular view of a group...
i don't think that the intention is always to win someone to a point of view. i would really question the strength of a person's beliefs if they could change religions over a couple of paragraphs- but it does open the possibility of consideration and thinking and i can say we all need our thinking to be challenged sometimes. For me answering questions affirms and strengthens my beliefs, and i can only hope others are challenged and encouraged by it.
i think that it's important to show a respect to what other people think- though you may not always have to agree. Calling others an unevolved monkey is probably not a good way to have an intellectual exchange of ideas (which i think is a big part of why many people in the religion section are here). To express what they think and also to hear what others think... You have to let the wisdom and the truthfulness of your words get people to give consideration to what you say. i think if you want to call people monkeys you shouldn't really expect people to respect what you have to say no matter how truthful you think it might be from your perspective...
Hope that helps. Kindly,
Nickster

What can I say?
You should care because hate needs to be stopped to create a less hostile environment for Islamic people and in return, Islamic people will react less negatively .
However,
the odds are, over the web, bigots won't listen. They can just as easily scroll down from your post you worked so hard on as they can close the browser. Calm, heartfelt one on one discussions in real life, where the feelings are true and where people see each other as human, are better ways of turning hearts.
Along with that, if you are Islamic yourself, be a good man; shower their hate with your love (in real life). Once they see that you love them no matter how much they despise you, they will see their hate in full light, and be ashamed.
So:
Don't bother with Internet junk. Go on with life. It's hard to convince others over the Internet (I'm not saying it's impossible though, it's that they can avoid your messages at their will). Before jumping in, you should probably ask yourself if it's worth the trouble to spend your energy combating rooted anger against Islam in such a virtual, uncontrollable way.
Oh, and about the winning: does it really matter in the end?
Should you really bother?
To sum it up, my thoughts are yes, but in real life and not over Y! Answers.
I hope this helps.

Yahoo answers is a place to ask a question and have it answered to the best of our ability in order to make a difference. If we answer it without sarcasm, bigotry, pout down etc.then that is ok..we should ask questions in a civil manner without the above also. However there is a lot of the above behaviour in here..where people want to ask questions in such a way as to bait others..or to get so many answers filled with the same thing to egg the questioner on... If we want to behave like that..why ask the questions..why answer questions that we believe are like that?....it's ego and humiliation..that's the game so many want to play in here..they want to act better than the other..they want to put them down and their beliefs in order to shame and belittle and humiliate them in ordeer to get them to conform to the perpetrators ways...that is the way the world is because these people choose to act like that.
I we were able to not bother answering or asking such things then the perpetrators would have no audience but in here its like "feed the monkeys"
There are people in here of all religions who have questions and require relevant answers...there are non believers in here who have genuine questions about someones beliefs and they ask in a decent manner.
So I ask..who is afraid of asking and answering questions in a proper manner?...the cowards, troublemakers and strife stirrers..and those do not deserve an answer...or to have their lousy questions answered.

"But then when I leave those unevolved monkeys alone, they go like "See, he's afraid of us, we have won!""
and if you keep responding they will have won. There is a difference between saying you win and winning.
If the last years of internet have shown us anything (on usenet, news groups, forums, the lot) is that feeding the trolls only keeps them coming back.

I myself am more of a polar bear.
Maybe calling those that disagree with you "unevolved monkeys" makes you an "unevolved monkey" as well?
Think about it.

Read Galatians 4:21 - :31
The child of Hagar is the Islam and etc. people.
The child of Sarah is the Christian people.
Then read Galatians 5:15

Sir, you wait until their stupidity makes them say something in which has a giant loophole then throw it right back at them.... OR you act incredibly nice (which i know you can't do XD) and make them look guilty for harming you. The good R n S people shall take care of you.

My belief is that faith comes by hearing what the Spirit is saying to the church, and that hearing comes by the Word of God. It is good that they are here, because they are getting the Word, and God promised His Word shall not return void. Perseverance saint !!!
