I would tell myself to stand up to my friends. A couple of my friends used to continuously make fun of a particular girl in our class when we were 10 or 11. I didn't join in, but I didn't try to stop them, either. My friends weren't the only ones hassling her at school, either. She was the main target for all the kids to pick on. She also had a drunk, abusive father, and probably a number of things were going on that I didn't know about (I didn't know her very well.). I found out my senior year, that she'd tried to kill herself. She didn't succeed. But her life seemed to go down the tubes, and didn't really improve after high school as far as I could tell. I bumped into her at a shopping mall a few years after, and talked to her for a while. I know that she was involved with drugs and stuff. I really, really regret not at least trying to help her when we were kids. I was a very shy, quiet kid, who only had a couple of friends myself. I really wish I'd had more guts as a kid. Kids can be so vicious to one another. That's what I would tell my 10 year old self. To do what's right and stand up to other people, even your friends.

When people say the teenage years are the best years of your life, don't believe them, be bold and don't give a **** about the popular kids, don't take yourself or school so seriously-leave room for carefree fun, you'll be at your worst around 12-14 so be prepared to face some big parental arguments.

At 16 she was crossing a road at night and got hit by a car.She is fine today but that was the most horrible time I had to go through thinking she might not make it.

If I could go back in time, I'd find someone more interesting to talk to than my 10 year old self.

I would have told myself to quit hiding the abuse and violence in our family and to tell someone.

I didn't do this at age 10 due to fear and had to live a miserable young life. During my teenage years I smoked pot with the smokers and dopers at school because they were like a loving family to me. I stayed high alot to avoid hearing the fighting at home, until I finally left home at age 18.

I would definately tell myself not to have sex at an early age, not to drink alcohol, not to do drugs, to listen more attentively, to think before I spoke, listen to my elders more carefully, et al.

Don't let them hurt you like that. You don't deserve to be raped. Kick them in the nuts, and run like the dickens.
