I have heard that yoga can do wonders if done with great faith but I want to ask that can yoga be considered as an alternative to different anti depressants.

I was on many antidepressants for my anxiety and OCD but non of them give me any relief. So Can yoga is the best alternative. How effective will it be?

yoga and meditation can be excellent for helping you to clear your mind and distance yourself temporarily from the stress and pressures of every day life. It relaxes your muscles and lessens physical tension. However, I don't believe that it can cure mental illness. Yoga tends to isolate you and focus yourself on your own thoughts and mind, and if your mind is clouded with mental illness, it can be a challenge to face those things and can be hard to deal with. But it forces you to sort through things. It has been very beneficial for a lot of people for hundreds of years, so that has to say something.

You can get into recovery from a mental illness where it doesn't affect you as much as it could through "self therapy" which can contain things like yoga. Some people can overcome their mental illnesses without medication and sometimes without therapy - but there are mental illnesses and there are people. There are so many variables - it may work for one person and not another and there's no way of really working out which group you're in.

It's theoretically possible but it's not something that's common or something that you can bet on. As other answerers have also said, it can definitely assist with other methods and give your mind more ability to change and be more rested, allowing therapy to be more effective.

Non-effective yoga though it's supposed to be good for the body is in all actuality not good for your spiritual being. It should be looked into by the proper spiritual authority within your life. Trust me there.

I believe that pills are only one solution to mental illness. Mental health is all about finding groups and group management.
