Without going into details, I'm having trouble giving a problem over to Christ and letting it go. Any advice on how to do this? Serious answers only. Any smart Aleck responses will have NO chance at the 10.

Pray about it. Maybe see a pastor or spiritual counselor. May be best to just give in and let Christ have it.

As Spock's father said in the Star Trek movie, "The Long Journey Home, " "It is difficult to answer when one does not know the question." Is your problem sexual? Then just know that sex is not evil in and of itself. If sex is not hurting anyone or is between two consenting adults then I do not think it is something you would go to hell for. Is the problem anger towards someone? Try to look at the problem from different perpectives. Also, ask yourself if it is something that will pass in time. If the answer is, "Yes," then knowing that will help to let go of the anger. Is the problem something to do with guilt? No one is completely guiltless except maybe toddlers and babies. It is better to be a person who feels regret for a mistake then a person who has no conscience. You pick up the pieces and try again. The word, "sin," just means to miss the mark. God does not hate or punish anyone who just makes a mistake. Just try again.

It is soooooooo hard to sit in the passenger seat and let Christ drive. Sometimes, God will allow us to drive and drive until we get so tired and are about to go off a cliff because we can't see straight that we finally scoot over and let Him drive.

Believe me, I have had so many stressful or agonizing situations in my life which I myself have had trouble giving to God. I think what helps me when I find myself having trouble, is reminding myself that this situation cannot be fixed by anything I can do. I have to actually come to the conclusion that there is nothing more I can do to make the situation any different than it is. I think God wants us to try to solve our own problems, but when we come to the point where we can't solve it, then He wants us to trust Him and let Him handle it. When we do that, we show God that the situation seems unfixable to us, but that we trust God to fix it because only He can.

I will give a brief example: My ex-husband is not a nice man. I am putting it mildly. I had done everything in my power to live at peace with the man and to get along, yet he has consistently refused and has even gone out of his way to hurt me, all while claiming that I was doing that to him. No matter how many favors I did for him, no matter how much forgiveness I showed him after he was very cruel to me and our kids, no matter how many times I went out of my way to give him the benefit of the doubt, he still treated me horribly. The sad thing is, he did it all in the name of Christ & felt in his heart of hearts that he was being a good Christian by doing what he did. He could not see what a hypocrite he was being, despite his pastor, the church board, several friends and Christian brothers trying to open his eyes. I finally came to the conclusion that there is nothing that any of us can do for him because this goes beyond any human abilities. Only God can reach his heart and change it, and only if he is willing to let God do that. Once I made the conscious decision that this was totally out of my scope of ability, I was able to say to God, "okay Lord, I did my best, now I hand this situation to you and trust you for the results". Not easy, but it can be done.

Whatever your situation is, please know that I will be in prayer for you and will be praying that God will help you to be able to turn this over to Him so that He can take care of it. He is the most qualified for the job anyway.

Blessings to you.

I don't know what your church does but as a Catholic we are taught to confess our sins (or problems) to one another. We do this with a priest because we believe that priest have been given a gift from Christ to bind problems/sins on earth and that these will be bound in heaven. Also, you know that a priest is not going to gossip about your problems, and a priest is not going to judge you for the sins/problems you have confessed. Plus once you have confessed, a priest confirms to you that God has forgiven you of your sins. Which even though you know that, it is nice to hear a voice say that. Given that, find someone at your church to talk it through with, maybe that will help or go to another church where no one knows you and always remember, you don't have to be Catholic to talk to a priest. It truly is a wonderful experience, if he speaks English that is.

Yours in Christ.

Since you used the word problem I will suggest that it probably is not sin. I define sin as anything you do that you are reasonably sure the God of your understanding would not want you to do but you do it anyway. Perhaps it is a compulsion that you want to quit but you can't. If this is the case find a big book of AA and read "How it works" because that is how it works. Do not rush ahead. Perhaps you just need the first three steps. If you complete them you will know because the third step is true and will lead you.

I think we all have trouble with givng things over to God. That is why paul said he died daily. If you have let a stronghold build up in your life, it can be very difficult to get rid of it. Have you tried prayer and fasting? I know it seems like we modern Christians want to ignore fasting, but some of the most intimate moments yoiu will have with God will come during a period of prayer and fasting. I would also encourage you to get a group of other Christians around you who will hold you accountable.

Well first problem is knowing it belongs to Christ, so if we hold onto it, we are stealing it, and calling him a lire.

Write the thing down, put it into your bible, and say mandate. You handle it. I am done with it,
Then say the prayer,
What ever we bind from Earth is bound in heaven, so this problem I bind from Earth,
And what ever we loose from Earth will be loosed in Heaven,
Then Loose if from your mind, Let this mind be in you which is also in Christ Jesus.
Say I plead the blood over this problem, it is solved resolved in Jesus Name I declare it done, Problem you can no longer stay in my mind, my life, and joy will come back to me, In Jesus Name.
Jesus you said in Mark 11: 22-26
I expect you read it.
And do it. Your using the word for your power to over come.
Just what it is for.
Jesus will, move if you are positive, and not negative.
double mind wont receive anything from God.

Let me put it this way. I see that you only have 2 options.

1) Decide to give the problem over to Christ and be confident in His promise that He have plans for you to prosper. Also, be confident on his promise that it will all work together for your good.

2) Do not give it to Christ and carry this burden and let it weigh you down.

I would suggest for you to take the first choice, why? Problems are one of Satan's way to take your focus away from God and let you live in worry. However God wants you to give your full trust in Him and start living your best life.

I am not asking you to pretend that everything is OK. I am asking you to turn your problem over to God and acknowledge your weakness over Him. Remember, when you at your weakest God will start to manifest and show His strength if you have your confidence in Him.

Just give it to Him and allow yourself to be amazed and how great our God is.

May you be blessed all the days of your Lives.... Remember trust in Him and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success.

The bible tells us there has never been anything helped by worry. Why not try seeing your self at the throne of God and just saying, "I cannot take this problem anymore and I am giving it to you God." Sometimes you will be caught up in the problem again and you have to go again and give it back to God. I had to do this with my children. His word tells us that the children of the righteous shall be delivered and I cling to those scriptures. Worry is the opposite of faith.

Pray to Jesus Christ, and don't worry about the problem. Don't worry about letting it go right now. You have other priorites such as worshipping and praising God with your life. Focus on those things and you will not only be able to give your problem over to Christ, you will overcome the problem itself.
