He is a rich spoiled brat who doesn't like anyone telling him ANYTHING. Remember he said he will stay in Iraq even if no one but his wife and his dog agrees with him. Certainly proof that he does not have the best interests of our country at heart. Every minute we stay there he and his big oil buddies become richer.
All he is accomplishing is massaging his ego and making the world hate us more. Oh, and he is creating more terrorists. People hate us so much they are willing to die to kill some of us.

He is trying to postpone his mark on Iraq and also he is trying to test the Democrats, which are all up in knots and confused right now. Right now the real money drain is going to happen in July. The Democrats will pay for the general military expense. Bush will then cut costs in some areas to fund the Iraqi war. He can keep doing this till he leaves office in January 2009. Then chances are the Democrats will win, they the U.S. military will pull out and Iraq will collapse. The Republicans will then blame the Democrats for pulling out too soon, like they did in Vietnam and Somalia (where George Bush Sr. pulled that trick on Clinton).

He is trying to get them to understand the tactical situation as he sees it. This is how the checks and balances system is supposed to operate. The Dem's can override it if they can produce enough votes for it.
The president and the house/senate do not have to agree to let it move forward, it can do so if the support for it can be kept afloat, but that is not always easy to accomplish.
President Bush is not a big Veto person so this would actually be him doing something that they have wanted him to do for quite awhile.

Bush vows to veto a bill to set a cut-off date for troops leaving Iraq which might in turn deny investment to a similar troops. is this meant to be a convenience to the troops? A bill ladened with beef to charm to others to vote in choose of it. is this meant to be a convenience to the anti-conflict electorate? How with regard to the electorate who loathe beef? the two area seems so make certain to charm to their bases that that's getting just about comical...i propose frightening. what's scarier is this is the group of persons that the electorate of the u . s . voted to have as representatives. this is only too plenty.

The bill that the democrats submitted was DESIGNED to be vetoed as a political ploy. It is a trash bill, nothing at all in it but massive pork. Only an idiot would NOT veto that hunk of garbage...

George Bush told them he would veto any bill which had time factors. So, what do the dems do-- you guessed it.
I guess he wants to prove he's tired of the partisan BS, like many of us are.
You may talk of isolation, well, many of think very little of the Dems' action.
