Herons only know a pond is there when they can see it while flying over the rooftops. Unfortunately your pond must be in full view from the air. We have a raised pond surrounded and covered by a pergola and although we don't have netting over the actual water there is a sheer net on the very top of the pergola which blurs any vision of the water from the air. It's been successful for the last seven years.

You mean Heron attacks. Go to aquatics centre and get a hose which is trigged off by movement, place near pond and when something lands it will let off a huge spurt of water. We had one and it is brilliant. But remember it will soak you too if you get near it. (they work in the say way to those outside lights which switch on when somebody walks past). Herons are most active in February/March/April when they need to feed their young. Don't get plastic heron they don't work. Heron's can also peck through some nets.

do you mean heron?!?!?!!?
you can by a special anti heron device that sprays water at an approaching heron. It works like an outside light... a little sensor on the front and side senses a heron (in flight and standing) and shoots a little burst of water at the heron frightening it but not harming it

simple a plastic bird of prey with staring eyes,
