find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

There is a lot to it than just moving although this is important even if you just start with regular walks short but often. You need to eat more healthy foods eat fresh that you have to prepare yourself nothing processed. It is simple so easy to follow. If you are following this process you are allowed one free meal when you can indulge on your favourite per week. Weigh yourself once a week to see if you are on the right track. Have smaller plates hence smaller meals just eat a little drink more water to remind yourself. Above all stay positive it took awhile to gain the extra weight it will take time to lose it and then some. Remember you are doing it for your health and go to it. Your shopping will be less expensive as only unproceessed food is allowed. Eat fresh eat raw (vegetables) good luck and stay with it. Time will make a difference if you persevere. Less calories in fruit and it takes time to eat enough time for you to realise that you do not need any more. Read on about it, ask questions ,do your research but it is your body and your health that is important to you so congratulations as you are on the right path for all of this to happen.
