A great number of Christians but by no means all believe that Homosexuals should be celibate or try to change have offered no idea or course of action if they(Homosexuals) cannot live thusly.

hey ve_wolf.....I think He missed one..... Cause I'm still here...

'God' doesn't care who you have sex with....just matters that you do 'it' for the right reasons....and just as many straight people do it for the reasons as gay people..... it feels good....

in answer to your question , 'straight' people should also be celibate if they choose the religious life as their vocation. The same rules apply to straight men/women. If you choose to live your life with God....act accordingly.

Many Christians have little understanding of the complexity of the struggle for sexual identity. Jesus is a God who is capable of healing and redeeming completely, but it is usually a process over time that the person must cooperate with.

It is not a helpful response to say, "Simply stop it," any more than it is helpful to tell an alcoholic to just quit drinking. A person has to do willing to do the inner work required and cooperate with the Holy Spirit for healing. Also, the devil does not want the person to get free of this spiritual bondage, so his attacks should be recognized for what they are and resisted.

As with any sin, if you are determined not to sin and you sin anyway, you just keep taking it back to God in prayer and pressing on in spiritual growth. Don't get discouraged. When you have the power of God living on the inside of you, you have the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, and you will ultimately be victorious.

I do not think there is much of a way for a person to break free from homosexuality or any sexual sin without the power of the Holy Spirit to help them, so obviously coming to understand and accept God's great love for them personally must be the first step.

I recommend the book "Desires in Conflict" by Joe Dallas and the ministry Exodus International at http://www.exodus.to/
Also, for men, www.integritydotmen.com.

There are many other Christian books out there to help both men and women break free from the deception and bondage of homosexuality.

If Homosexuals need to be celibate to inherit the kingdom of God...so do divorced and remarried people.

1 Corinthians 6:9 not only says homosexuals, but also adulterers will not inherit the kingdom of God.

The book of Luke tells us that any who divorces and remarries is committing adultery.

Thusly, the only way for a divorced/remarried person to turn from their sin of adultery is to be celibate for the remainder of their life and new marriage...otherwise, they like the homosexual will burn in the fiery pits of hell.

I do not believe this...but, fundamentalists who take the Bible literally should...except they like to pick and choose which verses they want to follow.

Maybe receive therapy. Homosexuality was recognized as a social disorder in the 70's. The problem is the politically correct age that we live in no longer recognizes that homosexuality is not natural. Pedophiles say that they cant help going after young kids either. Its not natural for them either, its something in their brain. That is my personal opinion. I will be called a bigot, but I don't care. The people that call me a bigot are the enablers of homosexuals.

If a homosexual is a true believer and I mean truly saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, God will change him. Don't say no, because I know for a fact this is true.
I went from a pot dealing and pot smoking, heavy metal listening, badly dressed rebellious one to a very conservative, long dress wearing born again saved Christian who only listens to Country music and most of it is Country Hymns and songs of praise. Yes, God does beautiful work and I loved how He has changed me. Yes, a homosexual can have this too.

Homosexuals need to deal with their sins just like everyone else does.

The rules are the same for all.

Contrition, coupled with authentic repentance, typically leads to forgiveness from God.

Absent either, forgiveness is highly unlikely, and the eternal prognosis is not very good.

Anyone can live a celibate life, it is not impossible as some might think..When they fall and sin they should do the thing anyone does...ask forgiveness and go on and try again.

What have you done to the many Priests, Arch Bishop's, Cardinals, and higher ups that can't and couldn't keep it in their pants? They took a vow of celibacy, and still created assaults, molestations, and rapes upon many of their victims. What is your solution for them? Because the only thing I have ever seen them get (until class action civil lawsuits) is a transfer and a promotion.

In my opinion, they should do the same as anyone else. Be celibate or in a long term relationship. There is no reason anyone needs to be promiscuous.

Christians can not see past their own dislike of homosexuals and their beliefs against homosexuals that reinforces their dislike and so they neither can see nor understand the difference between making a choice and living as who you are.So, your question can't be reasonably answered by Christians who are anti gay with any answer other then that it is wrong (for them) to be homosexual and so therefor there must be a "choice" involved. There simply is no reasoning with ignorance or arrogance.

What should anyone do with a pedifile who cannot stop molesting young children? What should anyone do with an adulterer who continues to cheat on his wife or her husband? What should anyone do with a thief who continues to steal? What should be done with a liar? a terrorist? a homephob? a bigot? We are all sinful and we MUST try to bring our lives in harmony with God's will. No one said it would be easy. If you truly make the effort and continue to do so, it gets easier but it never truly goes away--not until God removes all sinful tendancies by applying Jesus' sacrifice to each one of us individually after Armegeddon. Keep trying!! Endurance is the key to salvation!!
