Mormons LDS are follower of Jesus Christ, here is their basic belief:-

1 WE believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.

3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.

8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Okay I am a Mormon and from looking at all these comments I am sick about how many of you are not mormon and you are telling this guy everywhere but the main mormon site. I mean think about this logically where do you go to find out about school (answer: school) what about government? (a government office) so logically if you want to know what a mormon's beliefs are you visit a mormon site. mormon.org and lds.org are the sites you want. We are not a cult, we don't practice polygamy, we do get a lot of persecution as you can see here, but honestly the best way you can find out about mormonism is talk to a mormon or visit the above websites. You will understand that we aren't a cult, etc. if you do.

Mormons have this crazy belief that there are three tiers of heaven. Everyone goes to the lower heaven, the more righteous go the the middle tier and the most righteous go the the upper tier.

It's the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. There's no hell so there's no accountability. They also tried to say this guy Joe Smith (love the generic name dude) is a prophet.

The funny thing is of the things he predicted, when they don't come true they change their book and say that's the way it was suppose to happen. Talk about a messed up cult.

They claim they are Christian. The Bible states you only need the Bible for faith and teachings. Yet they come up with the Book of Mormon and they claim you need it too. It just doesn't jive.

Mormon is a term often used as a nickname for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This church is often referred to as the Mormon Church, and its belief system is often referred to as Mormonism. Scholars have grouped this church and others that follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and have labeled them the Latter Day Saint movement. These other churches are sometimes confused with the Mormon Church, but are not formally associated with it. According to Latter Day Saint history, the term Mormon is derived from the Book of Mormon, which Mormons believe is a scriptural witness of Jesus Christ that is comparable to the New Testament.

Mormons are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS)
I am one!!!!!
We believe that we all have a purpose in live, our church was restored by Joseph Smith in 1841, we have the Book of Mormon which was translated by Joseph Smith. We are not a cult. We believe in Jesus who is God's son and our savior. The name of the church was chosen to be Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - Day Saints because when Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus they told him that Jesus' church had to have his name. We believe that we have to take care of our bodies because our body is our temple. We have the word of wisdom which consist in living healthy: no drugs, no coffee, no smoking, etc... because these things can harm our body. Law of chastity which consist in not having sex if you're not married.
We worship Jesus Christ and God. Sometimes we call God our Heavenly Father. We believe that praying is the best way to communicate with God and yes, you get the answer! he's always listening. On sundays we go to church, women attend Relief Society and men attend Priesthood. We read the Book of Mormon and the bible, we also have two more books which are The Pearl of Great Price and Doctrines and Convents. You can baptize when you're 8 years old or older so you can be sure if you want to do it or not. High school kids that are LDS attend seminary and college students attend institute. When men turn 19 and have graduated from high school they often go on a mission, women are encouraged to go on mission too when they are 21+
When you get marry at the mormon temple you are sealed to your mate and your marriage is forever, not until death set u appart, then after you have your kids you are sealed to them too so all your family will be together forever.
After we die ge go to the owrl of the spirits. We can do baptism for the death and help save the souls of those who didn't baptize in life.

Go to www.mormon.org and www.lds.org and you can find all the information you need.

They are followers/believers of a doctrine started by one Joseph Smith. Smith claimed to have had revelations of a new and different book of scripture. The Book of Mormon, somewhere in the tale is an angel named Moroni I think... mostly a very goofy set of anti Christian beliefs although they claim to be Christian.

Their beliefs are a bit far out, but not all that bad. I like the Mormons. They are nice people, they value family and are very practical. They believe in baptism of the dead. That is why they have all of those data basis for family tree research. They follow the teaching of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. I have one here somewhere. The book that is. ;-)

If you are confident enough in your own beliefs, then you will have no problem with reading some other analyses of your faith, such as the items shown below.

There are many members of religious groups that have staked their eternal souls on their beliefs without searching the scriptures and reviewing the doctrinal writings of church leaders to satisfy themselves that what they have been told is sufficiently rational and worth believing. Don’t let yourself be one of these persons. Mormons must ask their ward leadership about the things that they have read above. See if they are willing to enter into an honest and frank discussion about these matters versus telling them to avoid readings outside of your own faith. If they do the latter, such a dismissal of honest inquiry should be an alarm bell.

They are a counterfit christrian modled cult. Started by a failed bussinesmen man that could not get control of his cucumber and had a thing for the woman. He was whoring around on his wife for years before she found out. This dude named Joseph Smith. He was ran our of all the Eastern town and then finialy setteled out west. Well they have no morals out west, so that makes since. Anyway he fabricated some gold tablets but coudl never produce them to the public. They promoted having many wives which thing is againt he bible teaching given by Jesus. They promote your rightious above jesus rightious. They teach Jesus came to south america after he rose from the dead. Which thing Jesus said will not happen until he comes for the bride. I am a native american we get a kick out of that none since. Another drunken wwhite man. They promote alot of interesting ideas about sex and being flesh gods. But really they have not a clue about anything it is just a bunch of nuts being decieved of truth.
