I don't think it says that exactly...

Um... You aren't, by some chance, standing on a bridge right now, are you?

But anyhow... no worry... the Bible is just nonsense. There's no "hell" and no preposterous after-life. That's only a great pile of believer-dung.

There is no specific verse in the Bible that talks about it. However, it is believed that Suicide is a violation of the sixth commandment, i.e. Though shall not murder. Also, the thing about suicide is that you cannot repent of it.

Is it a ticket to hell? I do not know but I believe on the assurance of salvation which is once you are saved, you are forever saved. However, I believe that those people who have Christ in their hearts will never commit suicide.
This means that those who commit suicide does not have Jesus Christ have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and I honestly believe that they will go to hell.

As for Suicide and the Bible, the Bible records seven suicides.

1. Abimelech -> Judges 9:52-54. Abimelech lacked personal identity.
2. Samson -> Judges 16:25-30. Samson died for a cause he believed in and for revenge.
3. Saul -> 1 Samuel 31:4. Stressed out, unable to live up to certain expectations; felt rejected and a failure
4. Saul's armor-bearer -> 1 Samuel 31:5. Impulse, he wanted to die with his boss. 40% of teenage suicide is impulse.
5. Ahithophel -> 2 Samuel 17:23. Ahithophel was bitter because his advice was not followed
6. Zimri -> 1 Kings 16:15-20. Rebellion; Zimri had a problem with authority
7. Judas -> Matthew 27:3-5. Depressed, Judas felt trapped by materialism and guilt

It doesn't say that at all. People take too many things and add them together in order to come up with that conclusion. The Bible mentions 5 people that committed suicide. Abimelech (Judges 9:54), Saul (1 Samuel 31:4), Saul's armor-bearer (1 Samuel 31:4-6), Ahithophel (2 Samuel 17:32), and Judas (Matthew 27:5). That doesn't say how many other people in the Bible considered suicide. There are suggestions that Samson, David, and Elijah all wanted to die at some point. Some Christians suggest that suicide is self-murder; therefore, it must be a sin. They also go along with the idea that since you have no time to ask for forgiveness for the sin of suicide then you must go to hell because nothing else makes sense. To me, the idea that God will judge my life based upon one action done in a state of complete desperation doesn't go along with the idea of God being merciful and full of love and grace. There is nothing in the Bible that supports it. It is just a collection of people that connect too many things with no basis.

Suicide is definitely a great sin, but its not a ticket to hell at least for true Christians, even for other people Suicide as such would not be the ticket to hell, it would only be all their sinfulness, but not suicide as such. If you believe in Jesus Christ and die, even if you have unconfessed sin you will be saved because you have trusted Jesus For your salvation. there might come a desperate situation when you don't want to live and you sin by committing suicide, so even if you don't get a chance to repent I don't think it will doom you eternally because all the time we are sinning by our thoughts and it can happen that suddenly we are killed by some calamity .. maybe an earthquake, a bomb or something, even in such a case we can't repent of those bad thoughts which are sins. I guess the same thing applies to suicide as well, I mean one who has put his trust in Christ dies then even though its sin he might be forgiven. Thats what I feel.

It is surely sinful. This can be concluded from countless scriptures in the Bible. But the Bible doesn't say it's a sure ticket to hell. Let God be the judge.

While the fifth commandment is rather explicit about the willful killing of a human being, that could be interpreted as killing another.

There are suicides in the Bible, such as Saul, the first anointed King of Israel, and of course, Judas, who betrayed Jesus. There are others as well. But in each case where a suicide occurs, it is always portrayed in a negative light.

Personally, with the weight of evidence against suicide, I would recommend against it.

Can't you talk about how they shouldn't commit suicide without talking about the bible? I mean if they really wanted to commit suicide, the bible is probably the last thing they care about. They need to know that they are loved. They need a friend. They don't need preaching.

God gives life and God takes it way. We can't play God! that's not our right. It also says in the bible, 10 commandments, you shall not kill, if we kill ourselves we go against the law and we will die. If we don't keep gods commands we die anyway and go to hell. Unbelievers the unsaved go to hell!. We must be born again ask "you must be born again to enter into the kingdom of God" Have you asked god into your heart, do you believe in God Almighty. ask that. There isn't specifically a scripture to say you will go to hell is you kill yourself.

Where in the bible does it say that only the bible is the way the truth and the life? Reason is a big factor too. But if you want to kill yourself... don't let me stop you. Call 911 first.
