What year and what type?
The 350Z is much faster than any of the baseline Skylines. People don't seem to realize that not all Skylines are GT-R's. The vast majority of Skylines are not GT-R's and tend to very slow.
That being said, a stock GT-R isn't as blindingly fast as people think it is. It just takes well to mods.
People worship Skylines but have no clue when it comes to any facts about them.

A nissan skyline while beat a 350z round a track without question as it is four wheel drive and has better handeling althought i personally would buy a 350z as it is more modern and a nicer looking car in my opinion.

A Skyline GTR -- regardless if it's R32-R34 -- will beat a 350Z in every aspect. The above poster is right, GTR's are NOT as fast as people seem to think. In fact, the MKIV Supra Turbo was faster in just about every way. Yet, people worship the GTR when it's a mid 13 second 1/4 mile car.

Fairlady is not a nickname. Fairlady is the Z's model name in Japan. An example would be " GM to Chevy to Corvette " . Fairlady and the "Z" car started from the very beginning of its life. O! Nissan is the company name, Datsun was the brand name and Fairlady was the model name. The Datsun name was dropped so that now you buy a Nissan.

as you would have seen in the previous answeres they are both fast! to really compare u would need to go into a bit detail. i.e. the spec and so forth...
so it depends on the sitaution!
i.e. if u was to get an original imported r34 skyline, with speed limited to japan regulations , therefore a uk 350z will definately be faster.

the stock skyline r32 can beat most stock f350z
the skyline r34 might beat the f350z, its hard to say
if their tuned properly, it depends all on the driver and the modifications.

the latest Skyline 350GT has the same engine as the 350z so not much in it.

Theres a lot of factors such as say the year ... which you forgot.. but most of the time the sykline will be faster.

Fairlady's are faster. Course it all depends on which model, and what extras are put into them.

They are both awesome cars, the 350 has more power and is the quicker car but both can tuned up to over 1000bhp.
