I am sick of Christians hating on certain groups or certain people. It makes me sick to see my own brethren discarding what most of the Bible is about--God and His will. You'll find that some of the priests, pastors, and rabbis nowadays are just like the pharisees back in Jesus' day. It's all a repeat.

Hey, do you think that the fisherman, tax collectors, and sinners that Jesus took with him believed in God in the beginning? Do you think that they were righteous men? Naw... if you do, you got it all wrong. We're being called to spread the Good Word, not spread the religion.

They weren't righteous in the beginning, and they knew that they weren't. It was stated that Peter would turn away from Jesus and claim that he was not holy enough to be in Jesus' presence. Well now, that could mean a hobo is just as good as the rest of us, as long as his heart is in tune with God's.

Bad people can turn into good people. It's happened before, and it will happen again. As for atheism, there is still hope. Some of the best pastors who actually teach to help people based on today's problems were former atheists.

I agree, we should not neglect the promise of salvation for all the "gentiles". And we are never "good" enough to be in the presence of His Holiness but by his grace we will see God. Our churches should be places of refuge and repentance and healing.
Refuge--safe from the "world"
Repentance--turn from sin
Healing--Heal and learn a different way of life(with Christ)
and best of all learn to Worship Him---
Not even our Spiritual leaders are perfect and we must pray for them, collectively.

Maybe some Christians think that in addition to paying for their sins so they wouldn't have to, he also hung out with sinners so they wouldn't have to?

I don't know, man. I'm still trying to figure out why Christians stopped being pacifists.

He was a Teacher. When he was ask this by his disciples he said in my words, you should be around other people who are sinners and be an example.Your teaching will be an example to all.He did not teach a Religion. He taught what his father wanted him to teach and that was Christianity!!

I deffinately agree. One of my teachers said something I'll never forget. "Jesus didn't come for the healthy people, he came for the sick". He didn't come for those who were self righteous and "healthy" , He came to help those sinners who are sick and in need of His help, not only that but are willing to admit it and accept it with gratitude.

i agree that we are to go into all the world and spread the Good Word, but we are also to spread religion...James 1:27 says, "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit orphans and widows in their afflicitons, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.'' that sounds like mother theresa or the pope right there, that doesnt sound so bad does it??
