Well that cannot be said for every atheist and Christian. I think the most moral person would be free from religion, so atheists have a better shot at achieving doctrine free morals that are in touch with reality.

Some Christians have honor and morals. This question is a generalization that is not worth a damn.

first off, I need to ask, are you basing this assumption off of real Christian's actions, or those who are only fooling others into thinking they're christians. I've met them before, they claim to follow Christ, but in reality, they are no different than the non-christians around them. They either never were christians or have fallen away.

We're not necessarily more moral - it just seems that way given that we're not (theistically) religious.
This quote will help you understand: "With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil – that takes religion”
-- Weinberg.

That's easy: they can behave in a civilized manner without being threatened with eternal damnation.
If you don't agree, try taking a look at the religious statistics of inmates in American prisons.

Ok lose the 'does'. But yes in the main I have found it to be so. Why, because they are not bound by bronze age versions of morality.

They don't, but a common misconception is that religion is a prerequisite for good morals.
