My parents have a credit card account in their name but got me a credit card in that same account with my name on it. If I use it to buy things and they pay ontime, can this help my credit or does it not affect it. Thanks

If they placed you on as an authorized user and it is reporting on your credit reports, then yes, it well help your credit - as long as the account is in good standing.

If any payments are made late or if the utilization is high, that will have a negative impact on your credit.

uthis will only affect you if the credit card company asked for your personal info meaning ssn ect. if they did they willl report all of your parents good credit as your own . keeep in mind that all purchases u make they are responsible for.but it does help your credit as long as they report this accout. to the credit bureau credit guru, repair specialist

if it is tied to your social security number then yes. Now if they just added you as a user then no. why are you parents paying your bills? I hope you are a good kid :)
