Grilled chicken is great...can be fixed many ways....and can be cut up and eaten in a salad, alone with veggies, or sliced and put in a tortilla like a fajita or chicken wrap with lettuce and tomatoe.
marinades that are great to cook chicken in:
teriyaki sauce
soy sauce
dijon mustard
italian dressing
Fish is also healthy....salmon, talapia, or any kind of fish.
you can marinate in any of the sauces above and bake it until it's flaky..about 20 minutes
or sprinkle it with lemon pepper
a cajun seasoning
salt/pepper
or separate an egg...dip the fish in an egg white to coat and then roll in seasoned bread crumbs...bake about 15 minutes then sprinkle with parmesan cheese and bake another 5 minutes.
In general, try to eat breakfast every day....but you can keep it light:
cereal w/ 2% milk....and leave out the sugar
or toast and fruit
or 1 scrambled egg and a cup of OJ
For lunch, keep it lite also:
salads or tortilla wraps are great
or sometimes I eat a left over piece of meat with a slice of tomato
Eat a reallly good dinner...meat, and at least 2 veggies
great healthy snacks:
sweet dill pickles
a peice of fruit
dry cereal
yogurt
pretzels...just watch the salt
Losing wieght after a baby is not as hard as it sounds....the key is to maintain your metabolism by eating 3 meals a day and healthy snacks in between...this keeps you from being starved and eating too much when you finally do eat!
Drink water in between meals
Walk for at least 30 min 3 days per week!

Breakfast: Hard boiled egg(s) or organic peanut butter on real wheat toast for breakfast, or some good granola cereal, maybe with yogurt or a yogurt smoothie with fruit.
Lunch: a veggie burger on a wheat bun (whole wheat should be the first ingredient, not enriched white flour or something) or a healthy salad (avoid adding cheese and heavy dressing, try oil and vinegar) with some turkey (you can buy a 3lb turkey breast that is boneless, cook it on Sunday and have it for 3 or 4 days, and freeze the rest). A really healthy legume soup or tomato soup or something would be nice if you like that stuff. Again, homemade is best (helps you avoid too much salt). Pasta with a sauce made from tomatoes, herbs, and a bit of olive oil is very good. Add plenty of veggies and if you need the protein, a bit of chicken or beef.
Dinner: Chicken rocks. Bake it with some fresh herbs ( and a dusting of olive oil, though some people like that weird spray stuff) at 350 for 40 minutes or so, and have brown rice and broccoli or spinach on the side (or whatever veggie you like). Fish is very healthy....really lots of veggies and a smart carb on the side (like brown rice or couscous or bulgur wheat --the main component of tabouli, or pasta---whole wheat is better for you but who cares?) and a little bit of red meat or something is fine (just avoid eating red meat frequently).
Try making Mediterranean style dinners; very healthy and often they avoid meat and focus on other ways to get protein. Legumes are good.
There are plenty of low-fat, low calorie cookbooks that will help you find ways of cutting out fat and carbs in popular dinner recipes (chicken fatijas, stews, etc). One is called the American Heart Association Low-Fat, Low-Cholesterol Cookbook. If you read this cookbook, you will be happy. You can make yummy food, that is not all that time consuming (you can freeze many meals), and is still similar to what you normally like to eat. Also, the internet has scores of recipes catered to low calorie diets. Just type it into the search engine and browse.
Drinks: avoid soda. Drink water, and tea, and soy milk or lowfat milk if you prefer the real thing. If you do drink real milk, avoid having it more than once a day (lots of calories)---I love milk and definately have this problem. Juice is okay sometimes (like breakfast or when you want to spike your blood sugar, but it has lots of sugar in it).
Snacks: Try cutting up veggies like carrots and cauliflower and broccoli and make a low fat dip. Whenever you want something to snack on it is right there in the fridge. Hummus and whole wheat pita bread is very yummy. Add sprouts and vine tomatoes and cucumbers. This is also a great lunch or light supper, as hummus is rich in protein. Salted seaweed (they sell it in Korean groceries sometimes) is good for a snack, full of minerals but few calories, but it is an acquired taste.
This may not make you lose a lot of weight (you'll need to exercise, too)....but I find these choices to be very satisfying and pretty healthy compared to lasagna and Burger King. Don't worry if you don't eat like this all the time, I certainly don't. Enjoy your newborn and don't worry about the weight too much....you are super busy right now!

You don't say how you are picky but as always you can't go wrong with lean protein like fish and chicken, plenty of vegetables simply prepared or raw and moderate amounts of whole grains like brown rice and whole wheat bread and pastas. Plenty of fluids is a must as always-at least 1/2 oz per pound of body weight-limit sugary liquids like soda and even juice. Add moderate aerobic exercise and strength training 3-4 times a week and there you go.
