Write them back and tell them how awful they are! Call them names, tell them they're going to hell.. then say you'll pray for them.

it sounds like you are a relatively new Christian. So, here's some advice. God works through us to reach out to people. Make sure that it is God working through you and not YOU trying to make someone change their belief. The unbelievers have hardened their hearts to the Truth. Preach the Gospel and tell of your personal experience, but do not condemn others for that is not your place. If this atheist sends you nasty emails, either choose not to respond or respond with a kind word out of love. Do not force the issue for you will only make it worse. Whether you reach out or not should be dependent upon what God tells you. So, pray. Pray, pray, pray. It's in His hands. email me if you have any more questions like this... maybe i can help

It really depends on what the email says. (Although I wouldn't recommend posting it). I would recommend witnessing to them (please use the Law and the Gospel (I would recommend learning how to witness Biblically through the Way of the Master (Ray Comfort, Kirk Cameron, Todd Friel, etc.), or maybe through the preaching of Mark Cahill ... and not a "God loves you and has a wonderful plan for you life" method because it doesn't explain what sin is and give examples and such... it's weak).

If the person is teachable, maybe learn more about the truth and try to share it with them, but if they're just mocking you and such... I would suggest just praying about it and then witnessing to them. Remember, they're on their way to Hell right now... the most loving thing you can do is try to share the truth with them.

I don't know how nasty you are talking about, but I'm sorry that happened. However, there's nothing you really can do except do what Christ asked us to do.

Matthew 5:11-12
"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

Matthew 5:43-45
"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."

Romans 12:14-21
"Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay,"says the Lord. On the contrary:
"If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

Nasty that is how you tell they are not of God. you pray for them and forget what it is they have said to you, so what they put out will come home to them...Just remember Jesus loves you...and they are of this world and not Him..so what they say is just pure babbling.And is of no importance....
