Sure, they're getting better every year, but it's hard not to do when you build absolute pieces of ****. The build quality is horrible, as you feel like you're riding around in a cheap piece of crap, which is exactly what you're doing. Their whole line of cars are underpowered. The only reason there is any brand loyalty is because their cars are cheap, and quite a few people out there don't care what they drive as long as it's cheap and it gets them from Point A to Point B most days.

I normally drive a Subaru, which isn't that much pricier, and when I took my girlfriend's Hyundai Accent out for a drive, I felt like committing suicide within five minutes of driving the car. And it was much the same for the Santa Fe. Do yourself and your self image a favor and spend a little more on a real car. I got rid of the girlfriend's Hyundai and got her a Subaru (for $20k new, I might add), and you can ask her how much happier and safer she feels in it....

I personaly sell Kia's and Hyundai's and have so for around 5 years now. It all depends what you are personally looking for in your next vehicle.
Kia and Hyundai are totally based upon Safety, Dependebiltity, Gas mileage, and of course there unbeatable warranty. Almost all of there vehicles are 5 star warranty on board and all have full side curtain airbags. The Mini-van Kia Sedona or Hyundai Entorague are the safest mini-vans ever bulit.
Through the last five years that I have been here Kia's dependability has gone up almost 25%, that's record pace here in the US. In 1999 51% of Kia was purchased by Hyundai and now they have that much more money to put into the factories, production, and overall to get al better feel of how to make better vehicles in the last 7 years.

I don't know what kind of vehicle you are looking at being a car, SUV, or a mini-van but they all have a lot to offer. I wish you were in the St. louis area so I could show you some of the benifits that they both offer.
I would check out kia.com or any other site pick your car out then go on out test drive what you are looking for. That will hopefully help you out.
Hope I could Help.

all of us seems to be lacking the element. All automobiles get somewhat some injury in a crash attempt. automobiles are designed to supply way. in the event that they did no longer, the skill from the collision would flow interior the direction of the dashboard and different places and kill the occupants. The supply way zones soak up somewhat some the consequence. for occasion, take maximum race automobiles in an accident. the vehicle's physique is destroyed however the driving force frequently walks away. properly, racecars are the sorting out mules for the vehicle industry. it is why we've uni-physique shape as a roll cage. you are able to injury the comprehensive front of a motor vehicle and have a greater useful danger of surviving with little to no injuries than ever earlier. So, to respond to your question, definite those automobiles are secure. Which one is safer? neither is safer than the different. Kias are honestly Hyundais with diverse styling and much less helpful factors. Hyundai owns Kia too. it is like Sony and Aiwa. comparable enterprise with diverse call and have content. additionally, for defense, Volvo is king.

You will be very happy to have a car with a great warranty like that since Hyundai like most Asian brands doesn't believe in recalls. However, since Hyundai is rated #7 in reliability by Consumer Reports and #3 by JD Power for initial quality you may never need the warranty. My co-worker has a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer that at just 55,000 miles needed a brand new tranmission. I think Chevy has better warranties now, but back then it was only 3yrs/36K miles so she had to pay $3200...yet is still driving a rental because the rebuilt tranny they put in also had a problem.

Yes Hyundai's and Kia's make much better quality cars than
GM and ford and sell more than Mitsubishi.
Ford and GM are struggling to catch up with build quality.
My grandparents have a 2000 Hyundai Accent and they think its the most reliable car they ever had

A 5 or 10 year warrenty never sounds too good to be true

Yes, they are as good as Toyota or Honda in terms of quality and build finish, and safety. You will get more standard features with Hyundai or Kia, but the Honda or Toyota will get better fuel economy. I think they are excellent vehicles, with a great warranty. I had an 2000 accent and my buddy is a parts manager at a dealership, with a new demo every 3 months. Every year they benchmark....and are getting better and better, and I am always pleasantly surprised at the improvements. The best thing to do is test drive the competition and judge for yourself.

Hyundais are great for those that need an inexpensive commuter. The Accent is one that only needs a timing belt every 100,000 kilometres or so; other than that, the only problem that I've seen with them is exhaust manifold leaks, where the manifold actually cracks, and front exhaust pipes do the same thing. Hyundai warranties these problems up to 130,000 kms.

ill tell you what hyundai has some pretty loyal customers and you do not get that making junk. Kia makes a good car for what it is. they make a base model with no power stearing, no power anything and no radio. it is also only $8,000 hyundai has made leaps and bounds in their vehicles over the last few years as has kia. Kia's top end model the Amanti i believe it is called, is the lap of luxury. the ride is amazing the power will knock you back in you seat and the style is taken straight from mercedez. i know people loyal to both brands and they are not easy to sway. again people are not loyal to junk. i think if you check them out you will be pleasantly surprised. both brands have cars for every desire and every need. from bargain basement cheap to well priced luxury. and every stop along the way. also if you are looking at these brands check out suzuki as well. they are well made and well priced they fall right in line with hyundai and kia.

i have own both and as for the Hyundai when they first made the excels in the 80s they were just like any car maker that is just starting out. they have had there bugs and flaws and it just took 15 years to start making a dependable car. the excel is what people think of when it comes to Hyundai. so they think all of there cars are no good. as for KIA they are over priced but a good car,KIA also has a good trade in offer if you own a KIA.

100,000 miles is nothing special for just about every modern car.

Yeah, they're pretty good these days. I was pleasantly surprised by both the Elantra and the Sonata. I also like some of the non-US models (why didn't they bring the Morning out in the states?)

I've heard some things about the Accent, though. Like fuel economy inexplicably dropping into the low-mid 20s.
