Christians, how do you react to the fact that chimpanzees are more evolved than humans?

Christine B, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's part of the problem. If we were as evolved as chimps, we wouldn't need silly things like toilet paper.

The answers you get are, like always, better than any comedian could think up. It's always cute to see how people stick their fingers in their ears and shout "Lies, lies lies!!" without even beginning to listen.

I wonder how a teacher handles such people. Makes me all of a sudden respect science teachers much more.

I am not a Christian, but the term 'more evolved' is incorrect and inaccurate in many ways.

There is evidence that the genetic complement of modern chimps has undergone more change from the baseline genetic line that was shared by both humans and chimpanzees.

It does not mean that chimpanzees are 'more evolved' though, any more than it means someone who drives for ten hours on backroads is 'more traveled' than someone who has driven for ten miles on the Interstate.

Sorry, evolution is not part of the Bible. The Bible says that mankind is of different flesh than the animals and that we humans are all created in the image of God. Humans are not descendants of chimps/apes. There never was a chimp-human split. God created them at a different time than when He created us.

I know the only good fig is a fig newton

Therefore I am clearly more evoled than your chimps

I know, I know, this was directed at christians but I couldn't help myself. They get to put me down all day for not being Christian so it's my turn...heeheehee

I think anything is more evolved than christians. They are stuck on this old book that makes no sense. It makes for good story time. They have to have 'something' else think for them, tell them how to live.

I don't think chimpanzees are more evolved than regular humans, but more than likely more evolved than those 'jesus people'

That is a very good qustion. Humans are very evil beings. Say there are to babies in a crib,and one baby rattle. Both babies are going to fight over that rattle right. One of the babies isn't just going to ofer the rattle to the other. My point is we need jesus for this world to be existing today. without his love and protection this world would be more of a disaster than is already is becuase of human beings. Anyways in science you can only prove facts wrong. There are no facts to or even good hypotheisises on evolution. Besides Human chromasones are complety diferent than animal chromosomes its imposible for animal chromosomes to evolve into human chromosomes them to evolve.

I don't think about it, I'm a Christian who believes in evolution, I'm not conflicted about it either, if I knew all there was to know and how the universe worked I would be God and I am not, so anyone who wants to lose sleep over it is ok with me. Nor proving it or disproving it is a problem if you all want to wrack your brains for answers that's OK too

another evidence where science has corrected what it said before and contradicted its previous findings.. this keeps happening all the time, in christianity at least we believe in one thing from the beginning and our belief does not change, but if you only go according to science, you might have to eat your words that you say today because most things are uncertain :)

1) drive a bus.
2) skipper a boat
3) pilot a jumbo
4) or speak 6 different languages,...... including chinese, japenese, and english.
