My childhood was a "violent" one, so it's not surprising "I" turned out violent. As for LIFE, I care little for my own, much less for that of anyone else. My father ran around with "gangsters" so I was introduced to this lifestyle at an early age. By the age of 17, I had built myself a reputation of being one of the "meanest" persons amongst the OC. During the 70's when mob wars were going on, I went into the Marines, which only made me MEANER. One day I got on my motorcycle and had a bad accident, "died" and had an experience that CHANGED who I was. Everything that was "WASN'T" anymore. That was 31 years ago and by the way found "God" who gave me this chance to tell he EXISTS......

I am 64 years old. Christianity has changed so much in the last 50 years, I hardly recognize those that say they are Christians. -- On this chat group, it seems, people claim to be Christians and then quote Paul instead of the words of Jesus. - Has selfishness reached such a point in our society that people want to say they are forgiven; rather than what Jesus told us about forgiveness. - Jesus tried and tried to get people to forgive each other, but even his disciples just didn't get it. So Jesus finally warned all of us:

If you do not forgive others, your father in Heaven will not forgive you. -- That is the clearest verse in the Bible. Yet, (some) folks who quote Paul seem to think they have a right to hold a grudge and seek revenge.

sorry for rambling.

I used to think people were mostly honest, trustworthy, not selfish. That has changed. I used to think the world was what you get is what you see. That has changed. I used to think the best cereal was the one with the best toy in the box. I used to think I could live on pepperoni pizza. I used to think life would be easier when I grew up.

How about you? How have your views changed?

DNA, central to life... never knew about that (not discovered).
Didn't grasp the Theory of Evolution for a true appreciation.
Didn't know *nearly* as much about Human Evolution, lots of which has been uncovered within my lifetime.
Didn't have a grasp of the huuge amount of life we never see.
Didn't understand the concepts of abiogenesis & panspermia.

You can be reasonably sure your children won't die in infancy from a multiplicity of diseases.

People now-a-days are more worried about being heard than being listened to because of their word content.

Many politicians put their God and politics before people.

People now-a-days are more worried about embroys then malnurished or diseased children.

I can name a lot more, but it gets so damn depressing as I line up the sentences.

All of them. Thank goodness, too, or the intervening years would have been wasted.
