One of a couple of things... The hepatitis B panel has to have all the parts to make sense.

The body makes different antibodies to different parts of the virus or the vaccine.

There is no "core" protein in the vaccine, therefore if you were vaccinated you would not make antibodies to this. Or you may not have had time to do so (ie. early infection). If you list all the other components of your lab tests, I can interpret the thing.

It means the antibody's that should be fighting off the hep B
isn't doing it's job.
