I thought I might like to know more, so I asked for and recieved a free Quran from CAIR.
I thought perhaps that learning more about the teachings would calm my feaars brought on by the terrorism.
It hasn't worked at all.
The more I read, the more I am convinced that Islam is NOT a religion of peace at all.
The very term "Islam" means, not peace, as they would have you believe, but submission. Think borg. Resistance is futile. You WILL BE assimilated.
Submission is the agenda. No matter what it takes, the intention is that eventually, every man woman and child WILL submit to Islam, or die.
This does not make me feel any more friendly toward Islam....
I wish it were different, I have met a few Muslims who seem, truly, to be decent people. But even they have their marching orders...

dude the media lies as simple as that and wikipedia is certainly a reliable source. Muslims are simply misunderstood in todays society, people see a hijabi(muslim woman) and say look a terrorist. well no, we're not. there are many different kinds of muslims, and some of them dislike the ones that give islam a bad name. thank you so much for actually having the brains to go and look up islam for yourself and not believe the lies of the media!! thank you

There seems to be two very different kinds of Muslims who both claim to believe in Allah, Muhammed as the final prophet and the Quran. One group holds to the disciplines of prayer and fasting, modesty and living in peace with other people of different beliefs. The other group are more like Muhammed himself, believing in killing those who do not accept their beliefs. They have a system that does not allow them the freedom to examine other religions' beliefs and then choose which religion they want to truly believe in because the punishment for leaving their religion is death.

lol, I'm not going to read a religious article on WIKIPEDIA.
I know that:
They worship Allah.
A lot of them have beards and turbans....
They pray 5 times a day, East, towards Mecca...
Islam's found is Muhammed, who founded Islam around.... 700 A.D I think....
Some Muslims like to blow stuff up and scream Allah Ahkbar
Some Muslims hate that those Muslims give Islam a bad image....

I know enough to know that the problem isn't Islam, but fundamentalists who manipulate the uneducated to their pleasure and that, there shouldn't be a religion that limits the freedoms of a person as long as it doesn't offends others in a hostile manner

I took a class on islam and several courses on terrorism and the middle east. I know enough about islam to understand it is not a religion of peace as they would like you to believe. You need to explore more websites than an on line encyclopedia with iffy credentials. Buy the Koran and you will open your eyes to the dangers Islam poses for America's security.

I neither know nor care to know anything about Muslims, Hispanics, English, British, Canadians and the list is very long so to the point if someone wishes for me to learn anything about themselves, country, or anything else let us set down and talk face to face and learn from one another. 99.9% of literature is falsified in some form.

I know many great Muslims, since I'm the Goddess of the Internet. They do not worship Me as Goddess, but that's ok with Me. I still love them and find their life of devotion to prayer and charity to be very worthy.

Muslims are the same human beings like us.. No differenc e as humans. They need what you need and eat what you except the pig meat because they hate to eat .
