Holy Crap! Does anyone actually read the questions? He is asking about DEFENSIVE players - no offensive. And some moron just said Reyes - the shortstop for the Mets! Here is who is not on the list:
1) Manny - his defense sucks
2) Damon - arm of a first baseman - not outfielder
3) Carlos Lee - AVERAGE at best!
4) Torii Hunter - getting older, lost a few steps.
Here who is top:
1) Vernon Wells - the best defensive outfielder in the league
2) Andruw Jones - Top in the National League
3) Mike Cameron - worthy of all his gold gloves
4) Ichiro - hate him - but he is tops
5) Grady Sizemore - hate him too - but he has the skills and shows them. Has an incredible first step to the ball.

How can people really consider Abreu to be one of the best fielding outfielders in baseball? He won a gold glove, sure, but it was highly undeserved. He plays very shallow, so he never has to take any risks. Thus, his fielding percentage is very high. But the problem is, a lot of outs go in for hits because of him.
Andruw Jones is by far the best fielding outfielder in the game. If you've ever watched him, he catches pretty much everything and makes it look easy.
Jim Edmonds in St. Louis is on the decline but remains one of the top fielders out there.
Vernon Wells of the Blue Jays deserves recognition too. He's got a great arm and plays his spot well.
Ichiro, too, should be mentioned. He is absolutely consistent, is quick, gets to everything, has a good arm, great judgment and can make tough plays.
Finally, I'd go with Carlos Beltran of the Mets. He has good speed, excellent range, a sure glove and a good arm.

1.Vladimir Guerrero- has the best arm out of all the outfielders and can hit any pitch
2. Carlos Beltran- a "five tool player", can hit for average, power, is a good fielder, has a good arm , and has speed.
3. Andruw Jones- is a great fielder, has great arm strength and is pretty accurate. Can hit for power, but isn't a great at hitting for average.
4. Alfonso Soriano- Is a stats machine. He is a great hitter, has great speed and a good arm but can be very inconistent at the plate.
5. Carl Crawford- Has excellent speed, range, and has good arm accuracy and strength as well. He can hit for a high average while being among the league leaders in stolen bases.

JOSH HAMILTON. He has half as many homers as Arod in less than half the at bats. He is also batting .333. The guy has a cannon for an arm and can go and get em'. The future of baseball stories everywhere...
CARLOS BELTRAN. I am not a big fan but he is a great player. He is now batting over .350 with 4 HR's and 17 RBI. He has an above average arm.
AARON ROWAND. He is missed here in the Chicago area. He batting well this year (.341). He has average power. Great arm and range. He has the best go get em' attitude. He will sacrifice himself for the team.
VLAD GUERRERO. He is batting over .350. He has always had power. He can field and throw.
DELMON YOUNG. A five tool talent. If I were to build a team he would be one of the guys I would do it around. He is batting around .300 with 3 HR. He is fast...He can range all over. He has a gun and can put the ball where he wants.

1) Vernon Wells gold glover
2) Andruw Jones makes it look easy
3) Mike Cameron good coverage and a great arm
4) Grady Sizemore a pain in the rear if you are playing against him
5) Dave Roberts an old timer that can still cover the ground
Aaron Rowand is a tough player but not very bright. Breaking your nose and getting hurt doesn't help your team.

1. torii hunter...i can't believe he's not at the top of every single list, he can bring back any ball that's still in earth's atmosphere and covers a ton of ground in center, the only weak link is his arm, which is average
2. jim edmonds...maybe the most well-rounded, doesn't cover great ground but can also rob a few home runs and has an above-average arm
3. vladimir guerrero...has a cannon in right field and is an above-average fielder, and still has the speed to cover in a corner outfield position
4. johnny damon...would be a lot higher but his arm is extremely weak in center, however he covers a ton of ground and is the most sure-handed outfielder anywhere
5. ichiro...tremendous speed and decent arm strength, plus the versatility to go anywhere in the outfield

1. Vlad Guerrero-he has power, speed, can hit anything, can catch, and has a cannon arm.
2. Carlos Beltran-same as Guerrero but just a notch lower.
3. Carlos Lee-has all the hitting talent as above, but lacks the fielding prowess.
4. Grady Sizemore-5 tool player with good range. Not sure how strong his arm is.
5. Carl Crawford-still blossoming, but has great speed and can hit. Lacks great power, but covers CF like a gazelle in the prarie.
