Why must everything have a reason?
Can't just somethings be?
Lets say that there is a reason, we obviously cannot come up with an answer (some people do, but they obviously just made it up) so lets just stop asking and focus on questions like:
Why do people rape?
why do have war?
why do we allow others to go hungry?
Why do people shoot up schools?
These things may have answers...and if we can figure them out we may be able to stop them from happening in the future.
If we knew what the meaning of life was...what would we do with that information. Nothing....it means nothing.

Science has already proved that the entire universe is energy. In fact the universe consists of three basic particles protons, neutrons and electrons. That is to say what we see with our eyes is untrue and we fail to see the reality behind the universe i. e. energy. This energy has a dynamic aspect which when comes in contact with nonliving static aspect of energy gives rise to entities that have capacity to exist multiply etc. The reason for this visible and invisible life is this wish of the dynamic aspect of energy that is continuously acting within the universe and beyond frontiers of which we cannot comprehend with our limited senses.

Ecclesiastes 12:12-14 (King James Version)
12And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

All of us were spirit children of God before we came to earth. God had a plan that we should come to earth to be tested, and two people offered to carry out the plan; Satan and Christ. Satan said "I will force them to do right and all will return so give me the glory. Christ said "I will give them free agency to choose and will pay for the sins they commit if they repent, otherwise they will have to pay for their own sins (sweat some blood as I will) but all will eventually return. every knee will bow and every tounge confess that I am the Christ. and I will give God the glory. Christ was chosen and Satan rebelled along with a third of the hosts of heaven. A great battle took place and Satan and his hosts were sent down to earth to torment those who would take on a physical body (be born). Three levels of attainment are mentioned compared to the sun moon and stars. Those who follow Christ's teachings will obtain the top two and those who pay for their own sins (live with satan) will receive the lowest kingdom. Satan and Hell will be cast out.

God created us for himself so the reason why we are here is to know God, to love Him, to serve Him and to be happy with Him in the next life.
Peace and every blessing!

To grow and develop to become more like our Father in Heaven. He loves us, his children, and wants us to gain an understanding of the principles of happiness. It's one thing to be told something is true, but to experience what happens when people make both good and bad choices helps us really understand.
