We can stop squandering Earth's natural resources.
Millions of acres of trees in rain forests get chopped down every day because McDonald's (and other fast food chains) needs more grazing land for cattle so that they can sell us cheap hamburgers;
Billions of barrels of oil are sucked from the ground every day so that we can drive around in $60,000 gas-guzzling SUVs;
Smoke-belching factories continue to pollute our water and air so that we can buy plastic trinkets at "low prices - everyday" from WalMart;
Landfills are overflowing with our trash, most of which is non-biodegradable, and most of which will rot for decades because we're too damn lazy to REuse, REduce, and REcycle;
The ozone layer is being depleted and global warming is becoming a catastrophic threat of worldwide proportions because we refuse to reduce vehicle emissions and other pollutants;
Natural gas, coal, water, soil, and other natural resources get used up far faster than they can be replenished, all so that we can live with 'creature comforts';
Rare species of plants and animals are becoming extinct because we believe it's more important for US to enjoy comfortable and convenient lives, rather than allow room for those plants and animals to co-exist with us on the planet - plants and animals that someday might have been found to hold a cure for cancer or other terminal illnesses.
We can do a lot of things for nature simply by simplifying our lifestyles. But will we?? -RKO - 04/19/07

Did you notice how many times RKO used the word "we" in the answer... The answer is there are to many of "us".. and all "we" can do is stop having babies.. exponential population growth, if not stopped will use up all of the resources that RKO outlined..
