I am getting married in Sept 08. My bridesmaids are wearing champagne/gold dresses. I need help in decided what other colors should be incorporated to make the flowers and decorations compliment the dresses.

Ivory/cream look really nice with gold/champagne. Also crimson is a really nice fall color that looks great as an accent. Or something closer to rust. Avoid greens though.

Do you like the typical "fall" colors? Or are you trying to avoid those?

I'd rely on my florist for a recommendation. The first thing that comes to mind with gold is blue, but probably not a viable option for flowers. If the tone of the dresses are muted, I'd think most any color would be good. Yellow might look a little washed out. I guess 9/8 could be either summer or fall, though I'm not really digging the orange and brown stuff that is sometimes used for fall. Congrats and good luck. I know you'll have a beautiful wedding.

My best friend got married last October in New England and had similar colors (champagne and taupe). For her flowers she did a lot of off whites (hydrangeas, Calla lilies, and roses mainly) for her flowers and for the girls did 3 Calla lilies. Her vases for the center pieces where gold with subtle pink roses, white roses and white hydrangeas. It looked FANTASTIC!!!! The colors were such a contract to the leaves out side that they stood out, but the colors keep the wedding looking elegant.

You can check out her pictures on the web.

Since it is a beach theme why have tuxes. Have the men wearing a short sleeve button up shirt that matches the dresses. If you really want uxes. davids has a line of tuxes. Go there and check them out. Sorry that I am not a gay guy who looks at everything in black and white. I am straight female who sees how things can look good. In different ways. To me a tux and a beach theme wedding is like. T-shirt and jeans to a formal. It does not go.

Well, when I got married my color sheme was light rose pink and champange gold. I think a bouqet mixed with pinks varing from light to dark will really complement their dresses:) My mother in law wore a champange dress and had a light pink and purple orchid for a corage and it looked beautiful:) Plus if you contrast the colors it will look vibrant in the wedding pictures:) It looked great in mine:) Good luck and congrats on your upcoming wedding:) Enjoy the planning while you can!!

If you want something dramatic for your wedding flowers , then brown anthuriums would be exotic - rich and glossy, and very unusual. Ask for "Tropic Night" for the darkest shade, almost black, "Choco" for a plain-chocolate colour, or "Castano" for something more brunette.
Your bouquet could also include a cream rose a cream Bianca or Akito rose is lovely.

Also try looking on wedding flower galleries for ideas that catch your eye.

I'm also doing champagne- some of the bridesmaids are wearing it and some are wearing sort of a sage green- gorgeous combination.

My girls dresses are gold/champagne. The groomsmen are wearing a deep purple vest/ties. The flowers we are using are pink and white with small accents of purple and purple ribbons.

First...congratulations on your engagement! I was a wedding planner for several years and I still love hearing about people's weddings, lol.

If you used deep, rich, jewel tones like burgandy, teal, green and cream...that would be beautiful! I would stay way from pastels and white because champagne would look washed out and the pastels would look weak against it.

You need to go with bright flowers to cheer things up a bit!
