The body is dead when the soul seperates from it and enters eternity. So who they were does live on, just the body dies. However, when you enter eternity, you also enter timelessness, so one moment you are dying, then dead, then before the judgment seat--all in one instance.

It might help you to look at it like, your body is your house, it's just a shell, The body is an earthy vessel only necessary on earth, and has no purpose or function in heaven. You just reside, or live inside the house, who you are, is your being, your spirit.
The spirit is eternal and cannot die, only the body's heart has stopped. A spirit cannot exist inside of a dead body, as it is the spirit that gives it life. Without a spirit, the body dies, and the spirit leaves the shell behind. Your body is not "you", your body is not who you are, it is how you get around and use to be able to function with, while you're on this earth.

That is a medieval ideology. Luckily, we live in the modern times and know that people whose hearts stop can’t live longer than a few minutes. The whole problem with the dark ages is that there was only religious fanaticism but no science.

Hi! There is medical evidence beginning to emerge which suggests that the mind does not necessarily arise from the brain. This is one of the mysteries of neurology: how does the mind arise? If it does not arise from the brain, might it be that the soul uses the brain as a tool to send messages to the body and to make decisions based on input from the body by way of communication with the brain?

There are two deaths.. Physical which most of us will experience.. and Spiritual which is the Separation from God.. which most of us experience now...
But our Spirit lives.. and our Bodies will be resurrected and rejoined to our Spirit before the Final Judgment.

Don't despair. You will still be here when your heart stops beating. You are more than your body.

When your dead, your dead. Why would you believe in an after life? There is no evidence that there is life after death.
