JW's are all unique people who have to abide by their own Bible-based conscience on different matters. However, I have never heard of anyone objecting to Sesame Street...we all have a birthday and recognize it, just not celebrate it.
There is also nothing wrong with cards or chess playing for recreation, as long as the cards are not used for fortune telling. Scientology does not correspond with what the Bible teaches, it is the teaching of man, not God. Hope this helps :)

It is a matter of choice. If you do not wish to celebrate birthdays then you might not want to watch a show about them. Though I think Sesame Street probably has some non Birthday oriented episodes.
I personally do not know much about these beliefs. If they follow the Bible, good, if not, then all I can say is they are not Christian.
From what I have read the origin of Chess is somewhat of a mystery as, among other reasons, Chess seems to have been "invented" in one form or another in several countries. I do not know anything negative about the origins of playing cards.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that each Christian must work conscientiously to obey God and Christ. Individuals and family heads have god-given authority regarding a wide range of personal and family decisions.
As a religion, Jehovah's Witnesses reject interfaith, but do not reject television (or the "Children's Television Workshop"), playing cards or chess. If an individual Witness finds his conscience to be troubled by the origins of playing cards or chess pieces, he should avoid them.
(1 Timothy 1:18-19) Go on waging the fine warfare; holding faith and a good conscience, which some have thrust aside and have experienced shipwreck concerning their faith.

a sturdy individual with a organic heart taught catholic for the reason that delivery, might they be destroyed. I dont think of they may well be you recognize. specially because of the fact in case you look at it this way, what number sturdy organic human beings could there have been in the previous the witnesses. (Im not knocking the witnesses however the present organization basically got here into being in the 1800s) Why could they be destroyed in the event that they hadnt been given the prospect to understand the reality? It states extremely for sure there'll be a resurrection of the two the righteous and unrighteous (Acts 24:15).. and that that people who by no potential knew Gods way might get carry of a wager for the duration of Christs one thousand 365 days reign to be taught it. Revelation 20 people who shouldnt die in armageddon could die through reasons that could not be controlled, yet whilst they do then they are going to be resurrected and in the event that they didnt understand the surprising way they'll get carry of the prospect to be taught it. The wages sin pays is dying, so which you have paid off the salary off sin in case you die. and you get the prospect of accepting Gods way. Romans 6:23 additionally with the 2d area of your question, in the event that they have been trully repentant then definite Im useful God might forgive them. yet they couldnt basically pretend and attempt to fool God, they actually might essentially deep of their hearts could be sorry. These aren't quite the same questions as the last time are they?
"Some questions for Jehovah's Witnesses...short answers, please.?
They told me if I pray, I'll stop having Psychic dreams...but how did they start? Am I posessed?
Does blessing my food keep it clean?
Do you HAVE to read the NewWorldTranslation or will KingJames be ok?
Should I keep my kids out of schools that read fairy tales? Are folk tales and tall tales ok?
Is it wrong to study dinasaurs or cryptozoology since these animals are not in the bible?
Is it wrong to study quantum physics (in reference to time travel and other dimensions)? "
" how did they start?" I don't have a clue.
"Am I posessed?" Same answer.
"Does blessing my food keep it clean?" A prayer at mealtime isn't about the food. It's about being thankful and expressing that thanks.
"Do you HAVE to read the NewWorldTranslation or will KingJames be ok?"
Or the American Standard version or the International Standard version. The New World Translation is simply a modern langauge translation, easier to understand without the thees and thous.
"Should I keep my kids out of schools that read fairy tales? Are folk tales and tall tales ok?" Why would you do that? Fairy tales/folk tales/ tall tales are stories nothing more.
"Is it wrong to study dinasaurs or cryptozoology since these animals are not in the bible?"
Why do you feel that dinosaurs are not mentioned in the Bible?
I had to look up the definition of "cryptozoology"
" Main Entry: cryp·to·zo·ol·o·gy
Pronunciation: "krip-t&-zO-'ä-l&-jE, -z&-'wä-
Function: noun
: the study of and search for animals and especially legendary animals (as Sasquatch) usually in order to evaluate the possibility of their existence"
I can't see where such would be wrong as we have no way of knowing for sure if such are real or not.
"Is it wrong to watch Sesame Street"
No
"scientology?" Do you want to be a follower of L. Ron Hubbard?

Jehovah's Witnesses play cards and chess and a lot of other games.
Can't answer the other two issues you addressed, I don't know.

Why is it so wrong to celebrate a birthday! It's just about celebrating life and the miracle of birth! Where is the SIN in that! Chess and cards are just games and Scientology is a cult. In my opinion most religions are especially when they congregate in buildings with no windows!Ahem JW"S! Sure makes you wonder what the heck goes on in there! Let me ask YOU a question; why do you people feel you have the right to go knocking on peoples doors? Don't you get it we HATE it! I don't see any other religion harass people like this so why do you do it? Would you like it if someone of another religion came to your door and tried to get you to believe what they believe and then kept coming back regardless of how you felt so they could keep trying to jam their religion down your throat!? Take a HINT!

I don't know the first thing about Jehovah's witnesses, but I didn't want you to waste your five points.
Birthdays are bad because they remind you that you're old.
Christian Scientists & Scientologists are completely different.
I like playing cards, & I like chess pieces regardless of the origin, but I don't like chess.

The short answer to any question about Jehovah's Witnesses is that we follow the Bible's counsel to "do all things for God's glory." (1 Corinthians 10:31)
We do not possess some rule-book that covers every possible situation that might come up.
We have principles, as outlined in the Bible, and we use our mental faculties and Bible-trained consciences to reason on these principles.

Yes, Sesame Street is evil. It teaches kids to count, and to recognise colours, and to understand words.
The only understanding that children need at that young age is that God Loves Them for who they are. And that if they sin, they will go to a horrible damnation filled with brimstone and fire for eternity. Much, much worse than Cookie Monster or Elmo could ever imagine. Hell is at the bottom of Oscar Grouch's rubbish bin.
Christian Science is just a made-up religion by L Ron Hubbard. How can you compare a science fiction writer with a real fiction writer like we Jehovah's Witnesses?
And yes, playing cards and chess pieces are the work of Satan. They teach people strategies and how to have fun. Don't you know anything? We are not here on Earth to have any fun at all...we have to do God's work in bringing more into the fold. That should be fun enough!
Teach your child the correct way, by bringing him (as soon as he is able to walk), to preach the Word of God door-to-door. Having doors slammed in his face will prepare him for the REAL world of job-hunting.
The only thing he needs to read regularly is "Watchtower", which always gives a balanced perspective on the world view.
