I know I would rather have clinical depression that HIV, because if I had HIV, then I would be depressed too.

Everyone gets clinically depressed at some point in their lives. Clinical depression can be resolved unlike HIV. Besides, HIV can also cause clnical depression (while clinical depression can't cause HIV not unless you have sexual contact with a person with HIV while clinically depressed)... probably the worst thing that can happen.

There's much more hope in depression. HIV you're a dead man walking and don't even know when your time is coming. Can be next week, can be in 5 years.

HIV, because if you are depressed eventually someone will drag you off to the doctor to get some antidepressants. HIV...well, ya might die from that.

HIV, depression can be cured with meds, counseling and environmental changes. HIV can only be held at bay, but never cured!

Clinical depression can lead you to commit suicide, which is a lot faster than dying of AIDS. It can also lead to acute loneliness, drug or alcohol abuse, heart disease and other problems. Neither one is great, but depression at least isn't contagious.
