i beleive im overweight by about 20 pounds. i got fed up of everyone saying im fat. i will always wanna be that skinny girl. so i decided to join the track team at my highschool. since then iv been running almost 5 to 6 miles a day! iv been eating the same. i figure since iv been eating the same i will lose weight since im exercising more than i ever have. suprisingly i have lost a pound. i dont get on the scale because the whole thing with muscle weighs more, but if you can see the difference then it doesnt even matter! iv changed from eating fast food to home cooked meals recently, and still nothing! i dont know what is wrong with me! or What im doing wrong! its just so frusterating. everyone says give it time. but its been almost 2 months. should i see something! anything!!

You're falling into some really common exercise misconceptions/myths!

1) If you exercise you CAN NOT eat whatever you like!!!! Any good personal trainer will tell you that exercise is 20% of weight loss whilst diet is 80%. Clean out your pantry and replace all junk with fruit and veggies, complex carbohydrates, protein sources.

2) Permanent results TAKE TIME!!! 2 months isn't long at all. Keep up a healthy eating plan and exercise for a whole year and then see how you look. The faster you lose weight the more likely it is to go straight back on. Would you rather lose that 20 pounds in one month and keep it off for say 3 months, or lose 20 pounds in 6 months plus and keep it off permanently?

3) You need to do resistance training! Cardio will burn fat, weight training will build muscle to enable you to burn MORE fat. It will also help to tone your body.

You are in luck today. I am going to tell you what i did. I was 260 pounds and am around 190 now. i know i still have a long way to go but still its not that bad. The part that concers you is that in this diet you start losing exponentially the first 2 months then it reduces till a plateau. It is ketogenic diet. You basically cut carb. You eat only protein and fat. Iknow, fat. Dont be skeptical, it actually works. I am aliving proof of that. I also went to the gym because it will make you lose faster and you wont get sagging arm. I usually do some weight lifting forst and then go on the treadmill for an hour everyday. I did not run as i would already be tired after 5 mins, i did fast walking instead. It is the best existing diet. i dont have anything to gain by lying to you. I have been fat my whole life but when i left mauritius for china to study i got a second chance in life. I am planning to start dietting again on the 14july as it is when we get holiday till september. I am going to do 2months too. I will put a spin on the diet by doing cyclic-ketogenic diet this time. Its the same diet except you get 2 days off during the weekend. I actually thinks its even more effecting as you wont reach any plateau. Since you are a girl you wont need heavy weight lifting like me. you could do lighter weight with higher rep for muscle toning. Then you wont have skin hanging. The treadmill is the most important thing, dont ever miss it. Good luck girl!

You might want to get a complete physical. I have a struggle with weight due to a thyroid problem..and to be honest also a love of carbs! I found (and I've lost 65 lbs in the last year) that your body will go into a protective mode when you start to exercise daily. It holds on to what it feels you need to keep you going. I was burning and sweating every night. Someone told me to stop...stop worrying it so much. I then changed the way I was exercising. Some nights it would be an all out burn on a stepper then the total gym...then wait a day in between. I would then do just 10 minutes on the stepper everyday for a week. If you change what your body is used to it will kick start itself. Relax...but I would suggest that you see a doc that specializes in problems with women. Goodluck..and love yourself no matter what anyone thinks!

Right now it's all about eating. Woman should eat at least 5 times a day. Small meals consisting of protein, complex carbs, and fats will get you there. Time them for every 3 hours. You probably have traded some fat weight for muscle weight which makes it seem like you haven't lost weight. Just keep it up and you'll get there. Healthy weight loss is a gradual process. Peace.

ok well first u might have to learn bout how your body works, starting with 3500 caloires equals a pounds, you can only burn up so many caloires, runing for an hour at like 6miles pre hour will burn off like 700-900 caliores.around there .but yeah but if you eat more caloires than you burn you really dont go know where and than mustle dose wieght more than fat but that dose'nt mean u dont get smaller.you might weight more but still lose a pant size. cuz mustle is tight and frim, fat is loose and well kinda expended through ur body so studie on the caloire thing, you might also burn like 800 caloires by just layin around the house all day so just go from there add how many caloires u burn since your active. some one on avagre might burn like 1600 caloires a day =/..hope i helped

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

if you are working out then you are building muscle. As we all know muscle weighs more than fat. So even though you may not be losing weight it doesn't mean you aren't burning fat. On a more personal note...20 pounds over weight isn't fat, those who call it fat have issues...so keep working out, build your muscles, and kick some ***....
