My mom was quite honest.

I asked where babies come from in 2nd grade. She told me when a man and a woman love each other their bodies are made to fit together in a special way, sperm, egg etc.

At that age I had some funny misconceptions. I assumed that the man's chest had to cave in to allow the woman's boobs to fit in.

She straighted that out later, and gave me what was in my opinion at the time too much information. (ie that if a guy says he has to have sex, that his body demands it that he can go take matters 'into his own hands')

~ My parents were liberal Christians (evoloution, big bang under Gods control)

No way. During my childhood sex as tabu! At least to my mother who was born in 1920 it was. I learned everything from friends. When I was 18 I moved in with the man who became my husband and I had to lie to my parents.

I have been totally up from with my 14 year old son. I even told him that masturbation was totally normal and to go for it. I accidentally walked in on him once. Later he came in and said ,"Mom we are not going to talk about it!" LOL!

After 30 years, I still haven't been given a reason for their divorce. God forbid they ever talk about sex. It was never brought up once, and questions were never answered.

They are Christians, I am not.

I basically had to learn about it "on the streets" as neither parent said anything. One's Christian, the other's Agnostic.
