SOOO much hate. i have written them scripture filled letters before, they only respond to ones that express the same hate and are emotionally based arguments. They have no real response to their scripture contradictions. They have done a lot of harm to the cause of Christ.

They're nothing but a bunch of psychopaths.
I say we all get together and start a petition to send to the media to request that they show absolutely NO coverage of these jerks. They've been on TV, and in the papers, and have even had documentaries made about them here and in Europe. They're THRIVING on all the publicity. All they are is one ignorant family that started their own church, and simply lives to bring as MUCH pain as possible to as many people as possible. (That's why they protest funerals. They know it REALLY strikes a chord. A unbelievably painful chord. They LOVE it, and when they're shown on TV holding up signs at funerals saying things like "God Hates You", and "Thank God For Dead Soldiers", they stand there with these smug smiles on their faces because they know they're tormenting the grieving families.) If the public demands that these people not be shown, and not be given a FORUM, they might eventually disappear. Even if we each just send a quick e-mail to the networks, requesting that they avoid any mention of them, it might help.

No, I can't think of any religious group, that is ok with such outlandish behaviour. They have nothing to do with God, they have protested things just to get attention, in my opinion. But, no some extremist's such as Islam and the like believe that God, does strick people down as part of their punishment, but they are called extremists for a reason. Westbro Baptist Church has claimed things that are in the old testament (Noah, etc.) were all punishments from God so that the recent terrors are also. However, according to the standerd christian doctorine, Jesus stopped such behaviour when he was killed.

This is not a Church, this is a place where a group of people who meet together and call themselves a Church. These are not Christians, these are a group of people who meet and call themselves Christians. If they were Christians they would know that God does not hate anyone. And you will not find anywhere in the Holy Word of God where He does. God hates SIN but God LOVES the SINNERS, this is the reason He sent Jesus to die on the Cross. This group of people is just one more group of satan representatives trying to destroy the Works of God, but they too shall fail.

No. The Westboro Baptist church is basically one family. Their views are despicable and vile. I am a Christian and despise them and everything they stand for. According to them, they are the only ones going to heaven, the rest of us...shall burn in hell for eternity. Wow, they must have like a direct line to God. I think if they go to VT to protest there will be violence and it may be the last time they protest anywhere...at least I hope so.

some of the churches might agree with the notion that god still punishes nations for sins and their tolerance of them. but, there is no church that could possibly agree with protesting funerals. that is wrong. that old guy that runs the place has those people brainwashed. i watched a documentary on youtube on it. indoctrinating the kids from birth to hate people.
you should watch that documentary. very informative. also, that one college student member of the church was mega-hot.

I think the agenda has overwhelmed their spirituality. The appropriate thing is not to judge. On the other hand when an agenda becomes the point of ministry there is a danger of losing the focus of ministry--Love has become hate that is not Christlike. When you begin hating people because they sin you have left your first love--you have put down the cross and taken up a cause.

That church doesn't have any support from main stream Christianity. No church that preaches hate has any place in the Christian religion. Christians are supposed to preach the gospel, that is the "good news" and telling people that they are going to hell isn't good news. Telling them that God loves them just the way that they are but that He loves them to much to leave them in their sins is the good news of Christianity.
Ephesians 2:1 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience-- 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved-- 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

As a believer and considered by some to be rather outspoken and abrasive towards people who are as intelligent as pondscum, I would recommend to Fred and crew to stop fornicating among themselves. I watched about five minutes of an interview with these people on CNN, and it was painfully obvious that there has to be incest going on behind closed doors. That woman had nothing wrong with her that a brain transplant wouldn't cure. That's one elevator that definitely never got close to the top floor.

That is so twisted of them to protest anyone's funeral, but esp for these poor kids and at soldiers? Why don't they protest at the killer's funeral instead? This church is an abomination to all Christians.
