Mormonism (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) is not Christianity, though they now want pretend that it is. In fact, only recently have Mormons even wanted to be called Christians, preferring not to be included with Christian denominations, of which Joseph Smith said "all their creeds were an admonition in his sight, and that those professors (Christians) were all corrupt." (Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith, 2:18-19). You have included in your questions only those parts of Mormonism which seem to agree with Christian Doctrine and conveniently left out the vast differences which are glaringly obvious to anyone who cares to research the subject. Just for starters: Mormons are no more Christian than are Muslims. Though they revere Jesus, like Muslims, they do not believe that Jesus is the ONLY begotten son of God any more than Muslims do. Mormons even have a whole third testament of the bible they made up supposedly written by the American Indians!

There's a difference when someone speak of the things Christ has done and when someone accepts Christ for the things he has done. To be in a relationship with the Savior is far different than having someone say Jesus Christ came to earth, died, rose again and is God. You have simply stated the historical facts about Jesus, but what do you do with Jesus.
Any muslim, hindu, mormon can say the very same thing from above and not have a relationship with the Savior, you see they claim that he is the son of God and did those things but don't have a relationship and don't hold christ to be God. By not having this relationship then one is not a Christian.

Yes they say all that. And that is enough. They had to start their very own church though because they believe a little bit more.
They also believe that the 10th tribe of Israel came to the Americas and had a great Civilization, that writing on South American Temples is actually Hebrew. That they can save dead people by being baptized for the dead. That they are all waiting to become Gods and rule their own litle universes.
Since they try to hide all this, this means the spirit of Truth is not in them.
Knowing all this you may now use your discernment to figure out why some do not believe that LDS are Christian.

I am not Mormon so I am answering this based on nothing but here-say. I hope this helps in giving other viewpoints if some Mormons answer.
What I think is that they believe in Jesus BUT they believe that this John Smith (whatever his name is) came after Christ and that's who they follow now. Like he is over Jesus or over the Bible. Yeah that's it- our Christian New Testament is not taught . The teach the Mormon bible that John Smith wrote. Instead of the word of God it is the word of John Smith.
What I've been taught about them.
I don't know really- I am glad I am not the one doing the judging in Heaven. I just go by a different instruction book for life than they do.

Garo,
The Mormons have added a great deal to GOD's WORD by following a text that is not of GOD. It is the book of Mormon. They follow a number of man-made creeds that are not Biblical at all. I do not say that they are NOT Christian but I am concerned about their eternal salvation because of their different beliefs. Have a great evening and a wonderful weekend.
Thanks,
Eds

We do like to categorise, don't we?
Mormons are technically Christians because, like you said, they follow the doctrines of Jesus. People who say they aren't are probably just ignorant of what a Mormon is etc

Thank you so much. I myself am LDS. I have never understood how people can say we're not Christian. The name of our church is The Church of jesus Christ of latter Day Saints. Thank you so much.

Want the advice of someone who was MARRIED to one for seven years? Stay away from these hypocrites, for they are the devil's disciples. Unless you are mormon, they "exclude" you as just being "of the world" and you aren't even allowed to participate in many of the "rights" Jesus gave FREELY to everyone. Because I am not "MORMON," and my ex decided to marry me "anyway" even her own parents disowned her for it, which hurt my then wife throughout the seven years we were married. These people aren't even close to practicing all Jesus taught and told people how to behave. Like the Jews believe, they are the "chosen" you are the GENTILE, which you know Jesus called hypocrites himself many times. Oh, by the way, I got stuck in Utah one time with only $12 in my pocket to my name. ALSO couldn't get any from the LDS which ran alot of the states welfare system, so my wife and I barely survived the 3 months we lived in this lousy cult infested state.......

To be Christian you need to believe Jesus is Lord and our savior so they should be Christian. That person doesn't know what they are talking about.

Their definition of Jesus is a lot different. I personally don't care about this one, but I can see a big difference.
