if your legitimately sick in college...?

how does that work? do you need some sort of doctors note to get out of class? or can you just stay in your dorm? or do you have to sleep somewhere else? what happens? are you able to make up tests you miss? what if you have like the flu and are sick for a week?!

You would visit the campus health facility in most universities and obtain a order to rest at home that you could use to get your instructor to allow make-up work.

If you are sick for a day, just don't go to class. If you don't want to be penalized for the absense, call your instructor(s) beforehand. If you are out for a week you'll need a doctor's note, which is pretty easy to obtain. Always try to contact your professors first though, and if you have shown responsibility and hard work in the past they'll usually work with you.

in general, when college students are sick, they just stay in their dorm/apartment. you don't need a doctor's note for missing class....some professors don't even take attendance. but if they do take attendance, you can always explain that you were sick and ask how to make up missed work/tests, etc. professors usually have office phones and defintely e-mail so there's no excuse for not getting in touch with them.

I don't know how it works at your school, but at mine, if you have something that will keep you out of classes for more than three days, such as mono or the flu, and you go to the health center, they will contact the dean's office who will then contact the professors on your behalf. Talk to your professors and explain it to them, and I'm sure that they will understand.

Depends how sick i was. I wouldnt like constantly b sneezing at a nice resturant with him it would b AWKIES so i'd say no. I'd tell him i <3 him but im too sick to go.... Colleges have health clinics. you visit one, get diagnosed, if legitimate you email profs BEFORE classes are missed and before exams are missed. With doctors written excuse these are excused absences but you are still expected to make up the work.

you need to notify all your professors before class and make arrangements. most of them are very understanding about sickness. it happens. if need be, there is a doctor on campus.
