Because in reality - they are not really sure, and so are afraid to die.

I tend to think of heaven variously as the heliocentric model of the universe or the happy marriage of man and wife or the unimpeded pursuit of creative imagination in worship of God.
Habakkuk seems to be prophesying (the pro- in prophecy only translates to "before", rather than "in favour of a cause, without necessarily being affiliated with it" if you don't actually know of any causes worth pursuing right now but you'll report back when you do, which would mean, as a Christian, that you've lost sight of the issue of God's universal sovereignty; as a non-Christian, it means that you have a fair degree of political oomph) that if somebody who was concerned about what violence says about God's love and power to earth's inhabitants (Hab 1:2) wrote down their revelation so that a herald could run with it (Hab 2:2), that revelation proceeding around via heraldry and running would come at the right time when things were about to be cut off. Hab 2:4 seems to be paralleling 2 Thessalonians 2:3. This would seem to indicate that the revelation concerns the identity of the man of lawlessness, which information the true prophet already knows, although nobody else seems to be listening.
In any event, the point I was trying to make is that Habakkuk 2:6 seems to refer to both sides.
"Will not all of them taunt him with ridicule and scorn, saying,
" 'Woe to him who piles up stolen goods
and makes himself wealthy by extortion!
How long must this go on?'
Non-Christians point at Christians who believe in street frontage (Judas-sassity) who point the finger at those who "aren't working". The words "ridicule and scorn" here actually refer to aphorisms and riddles. This is probably why you are here on this forum with ridicule and scorn. If you were a more advanced thinker, you might be able to come up with some more advanced aphorisms and riddles by which to settle the matter of whether we live in a just world or not, and whether God is overseeing it.

Well, speaking for myself, I was supposed to go to the pearly gates not too long ago, but I felt I had unfinished buisiness to take care of and God agreed... so since my body was still pretty fresh, God brought me back so I could tell other people that He is real and about how much He loves them. Besides, I still have my son to raise afterall.... :0)

Why not? We are neither impatient nor wasteful. What's wrong with wanting to enjoy this time for as long as possible?
Our assurance of Heaven allows us to be patient for it.

Our earthly departure is beyond our control, the time is fixed and set in stone, however, we do try and take care of ourselves while we are here to improve our quality of life, but never with the naive thought that we can extend it

Well in my case, I would like for him to come back now and gather us up but my children and husband are not saved, so I can wait until they are just like my mother and her mother before her who said God does not want any of us to be lost. She thought he was waiting too.

So your saying we should just all commit suicide so we can get to heaven earlier? Death and Life are both adventures, and i'm not missing out on either.

because there is one thing we want more than getting to Heaven, we want to see more people converted so that more will come with us to heaven.
