Do you sew or know anyone who does that can make her something special, it would be a lot cheaper than some of the ones in the bridal magazines that cost more than you can afford. You can also check e-bay.

One of the cheapest places I have found is http://www.ebridalsuperstore.com/... . I didn't however buy my dress from there.... There are a number of stores that will beat any competitors quote by 5%. I dealt with RK Bridal which is based out of New York. I searched up and down locally for my perfect dress. Once I found it I began to look into what the dress would cost me elsewhere compared to what it would cost me to buy the bridal boutique in my home town. I found RK Bridal recommended on a bridal website but the catch was I had to find a competitor's price for them to beat. That's where ebridalsuperstore.com came in. The quote was almost $800 less than the bridal boutique where I first tried the dress on. Exact dress, brand new from the manufacturor, my size, color etc. I faxed the order in and when the dress arrived it was perfect. Exactly what I wanted. They were helpful and very easy to deal with. Unbelievably pleasant experience all around. I then did the exact same thing with my bridesmaid dresses. Again, I got them for about half the suggested retail. If you are looking to get exactly what you want without compromise go this route. They even sent me a free garter with my dress!

David's Bridal has some really great sales sometimes...you can also check at private bridal shops that often sell dresses that are discontinued or have been ordered but not paid for on the cheap. If you are very careful ebay can also be a good option. But in this case, you are better off buying from a person who is selling their own dress or from a US store who sells their overstock online. Some major department stores also have bridal dresses that aren't overly expensive. You may want to check them out. Good luck!

Look up wedding dresses on google. I found mine a week before I was set to leave for Jamaica to get married. I was going to just do a nicer dress but found one for about $150 or so online! (I don't remember the website otherwise I would give it to you, I'm sorry!) I received it the next day and it needed no work! It was a beautiful dress. It was a great price and didn't look cheap! You can find almost anything on the internet. Good Luck! :)

I purchased my wedding dress from a Contempo Casuals store for less than $400. It's very simple but elegant looking at the same time.
My suggestion would be to check out the stores that are stocking prom dresses right now and stay out of the bridal boutiques. You might get lucky and find something that's suitable for a wedding at a prom dress price.
Good luck and tell your daughter congratulations!

First place I would check will be the trift store but some trift stores charged at least $300 for a nice one. Second place you can check is consignment store and if you have Davids Bridal in your place, I would recommend you to check out that place. They have $99 sale now and the dresses are pretty ;)
I wouldn't go for Ebay - cos the size might not be right and you have to pay another sum of money to resize it.

I hate the idea of spending thousands for a dress I will wear once. I went to David's Bridal and bought a "bridesmaid's" dress for $180! It is beautiful and makes me feel like a princess, yet at the same time it kept my parent's pocket book happy!
also, it is prom time, check out some prom dresses... I swear some of the white ones look just like wedding dresses!!
Good luck to you

Aside from the e-bay site, keep your eyes out for gowns in second hand shops. Sal Army and others often have them. Go also, to the bridal shops, see if they have any on sale. Maybe some that got soiled from being handled on the racks. I found some in the bargain basement racks, for $10, away from the expensive racks upstairs.
Check with a seamstress, see if you can get one made, too.

Also think OUTSIDE the square of what you consider to be a ""wedding dress"''- after all the outfit worn to get married in is called ** wedding dress** as this is the purpose for which the outfit was chosen;
so long as the outift chosen reflects your daughter's personality & is something that she feels comfortable with then it doesn't really matter what sort of outfit she wears.
it MUST however be HER CHOICE - NOT YOURS.
she may have entirely different ideas to you.

netbride.com, wholesaleweddinggowns.com, weddingretailer.com, gownfind.com, thebridalshop.com, theeveningstore.com, houseofbrides.com, dressesofalifetime.com, bridalonline.com, alycedesigns.com (storefinder in your state), elegantgowns.com, victoriascollection.com, store.tjformals.com. You can find bridal gowns of all pricing. Some of these sites refer you to bridal stores in your state where the gowns are sold. Check them out. Best of Luck. If need be, try ebay.com, and do a search for new or used wedding gowns.

After I got married I sold my designer gown which was around 1500 dollars for 400 on ebay- I would suggest looking for maggie soterros on ebay. It really works! Good luck. If you want to see better pictures of the dresses. Go to her website. Her dresses are amazing.
