I didn't read that anywhere in the constitution. Still, they want prayer in schools, outlawed abortion, and other Bible-related things written into law. The majority of Americans call themselves Christian- I'll give them that. I guess what is popular is always right! Give me a break...

The founding fathers were NOT Christian as most claim...one only needs to look into their quotes and biographies to see that..However, the majority of Americans do embrace the Christian religion and it is easy to assume because of that, then therefore we were founded upon the Christian religion..but America has been the place for most to escape religious persecution, etc. We have a democracy in place, NOT a theocracy...although many would love to think that and sadly, seems like it is almost going there...

The majority of Americans "aren't" christians, but rational, logical, educated persons who each and everytime one of these leaders of religion runs for President, KNOW they would not make a good one. If this country were a christian nation you would have christians playing Constantine and running the government much as it was run by him and the Roman Catholic Church did the Roman Empire. What happened then? Christians went throughout the known region right away and started executing everyone they deem as EVIL. Even after the fall of the roman empire, this church carried out it's mass killings of many throughout the world for over 17 centuries. Still think America is a christian nation? This religion is no better than the rest when it comes to carrying out, NOT the mission of God's will in heaven, but their own agenda which is of the DEVIL..........Religion nor "christianity" has much to do with the REAL doctrines of Jesus and they have proved that time and time again, though people keep forgiving and forgetting this religions spread in popularity by insisting people believe or DIE spreading a murderous and BLOODY past many have not forgotten. Some of those are the muslim ancestors which "catholics" put to death during the crusades and why many of Islam hate christians........

I think that the USA has the largest group of believers who can official call themselves Christians. So if any country can be called a christian nation it is the USA. but this country is also very evil... look at all the trash that comes from and happens in this country. porn, abortion, child slavery trafficking, gay rights, the ACLU. The left or dems are pushing this country away from God's blessing and painting a huge bulls eye on us. It wont be long till this country is brought to its knees.

I do not perceive the United States to be a Christian nation. No matter what they write on the money or say in the Pledge of Allegiance, we are a nation turned from our God. Legislation will not change people's hearts.

That is how is was back in your grandparents day. Christianity was the faith of most people, and even those who were not Christians did respect it. Today, it is different because of immigrants bringing their religions and customs into the country and the rise in Atheism. Give me the good old days.

Yes, we will give you a break, since you do not know your history :)

This nation is the very first nation in the history of man to be a covenant nation (no, not the Jews, God made the covenant with them, not the other way around). When the Pilgrims stood on the rock and had their little prayer they made a covenant with God to live according to His word.

This is why the US is blessed, we are a covenant nation, no matter how hard people try to say we are not.

The founders were indeed Christian. No one with eyes or hears can observe this country now, and consider it Christian. If we don't receive a severe judgment for our wickedness, God owes Sodom and Gomorrah an apology.

I dont get is either.

England is a Christian nation because the government has an official church.

That very thing is prohibited in the United States.

perhaps because they are blind and being lead by the blind.
no nation has a corner of being Christian, nor can it. being a Christian is purely a personal choice and experience...and it don't always look righteous and pretty and well behaved (just look at the examples in the Book)

Like it or not, the founders of this country were Christian, so Christianity is already installed within our government...

Christianity is the dominant religion of the WORLD at this period in time...., especially the US and England....

And Majority doesn't Always Rule.....remember that.
