Because religious leaders demonize us so we cannot free people from their money grubbing mind....(beep beep)
There was also the whole cold war where we faught the 'godless' Russians in a nuclear pissing contest. They added god in our pledge and money(which is unconstitutional) to show those 'godless' Russians they were more delusional. Long story short god smited the Russians. That just might be why some confuse atheists with communists.
The studies show we are the least trusted minority group. Noone will vote for us and I cannot even run for office in my state as an atheist(it says so in the law!). Sorry Christans, you will have to take our "venom"(it's just people venting from religion's oppression). Was not us who outcasted family members due to religious differences. I'm not mad at you and hope you get the humor. I do despise religious dogma though.

People are taught to value a religion over man himself so it is not surprising there would be prejudice between man based on ideological difference.
Religion teaches aggression toward those that believe differently. Atheist have no need to expand there belief or push there views upon anyone else but all religions are indoctrinated into thinking their belief in more superior than another. From this it only a matter of time the world in pushed in to great struggle and strife.

I'm not an Atheist, I am Agnostic. But I think part of the problem is that Christians in general don't like people questioning their beliefs, especially if they are hard questions that don't have a good answer. They don't like to be put in a position where they have to question their own belief system.
This is because religion in general relies entirely on faith, not logic and reason or demonstrable proof.
The end result is something like "You are rude for questioning my faith, because you know I have no logical answer and you asked anyway."

The tactics that they use and the name calling. All the time on here, and I could name some names but they know who they are. Religions are the cause of all wars they say, and yet they claim to be intelligent, quite funny, because an idiot knows that is not true. Etc and etc.
And they come on R&S for no other reason then to make trouble and talk smart-mouthed. And say things they know darn well they could never say in real life. And worse they tell us, (Christians) that we are trying to force our religion on them, which is nothing but bull and they know it.
But then, on here there are two kinds of so-called atheists, children under 17 and adults who never grew up. Anyone can see that by their answers. And most of them must not have a life because they are on here all the time.

I don't agree in their not believing in a Supreme Being. But I would have to know one to determine if I liked that particular individual. I sincerely believe that any good the atheist has is because he was born in the image and likeness of God. An Atheist will probably disagree that is his right and I have a right to believe as I do. That is my right.

I have no problem with Atheists....as long as they don't HATE on me for what I believe.
I like to ask them this question though - - -
The car we are riding in right now---
It didn't just pop out of nothingness, right?
It required someone or SOMETHING to think about CREATING it, right?
Therefore, if you agree that it does take some sort of Creator to have Creation, then you just contradicted yourself,

Some people do not like the actions they display toward Christians on this site. Why aren't the same actions given toward other religions. I personally do not dislike atheists in general. I do know several that I actually love. I even know Christians that I do not like. Personalities are different and some do not jive with yours. It has nothing really to do with their religion.

Fear and ignorance, which seem to go hand in hand. Most people have a false impression of what atheists are really like. They picture them as Madeline Murry O'Hare clones. (Unfortunately she did a lot of damage to the image of atheists. Not because of the prayer lawsuit, but because she came across as a bit of a nut case)
One of the reasons I come to R/S is to dispell that stereotype. I hope I am being successful.

It is not the atheists that are disliked but their beliefs.
If there is no God then there is no one to answer to. If there is no one out there to account to then so long as one is not found out, one can commit any number of atrocities and live scott free. If that is the belief of atheists then they are viewed as a menace to all those who do believe there will be a day of reckoning.
