Christianity was hijacked by Paul at a very early stage so he could corrupt the message of Jesus.
He introduced the pagan Roman religion of Mithraism into the foundation of Christianity.
The SUN-GOD Mithra was born on one of the shortest days of the year before the "resurrection" of life every spring - December 25th

Then maybe our whole purpose for existence is a whole sham if you think of it that way? I would have to wonder what the heck am I here for?

Are you referring to the religion of christianity or the faith ? Religions of all beliefs were created by man for the control of man. Faith , on the other hand is up to one's personal belief. Whether you want to practise your belief in a particular religion or to believe in God, Jesus or any other deity is up to you. To me, the difference between Christianity ( with a large C ) and christianity is the doctrine, pomp and play acting relating the established churches. Christ preached in open fields not fancy and elaborate buildings, wore plain cotton garments and was a friend to sinners, thieves and the ill and infectious. Material possessions meant nothing to him. I try to be a true Christian but as Jesus said " Judge not, lest thyself be Judged ".

Now I'm going to be humming "Sham-a-lama-ding-dong" to myself for the rest of the evening.
And how about a little Camembert or some Brie to go with that lovely whine?

Why just limit yourself to Christianity? Why not insult Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism, and Animism too? It's funny how nonreligious people b**** and moan about religion = intolerant, when this question is exactly that. Intolerant, intolerant, intolerant.

You can think what you want, but for me it is a lifestyle. God will lead me through life's challenges, and one day I will meet him. I trust in my Lord for He is the center guidence for my life. It is your choice to shun Christianity, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I refuse to let anyone guide me off the path of salvation.

Let me guess, another atheist, Christian basher. I feel his presence in my heart and my life. So I know Jesus is real. Therefore, Christianity is real.
