I have always been curious. How does the Pope confess his sins? Does he just confess through his paryers or does he have to go to a church and confess to a lower ranking in the church?

I forgot to mention, don't say the pope doesn't sin. Everyone has sinned. It can be out loud or in your thoughts. It may be through doubt or temptation. Everyone sins.

It's impossible for one to confer the sacrament of reconciliation upon one's self. Therefore, the Pope must receive this sacrament from another priest. Think of it this way: just as a surgeon wouldn't be able to operate on his own brain, a priest cannot forgive his own sins. In both situations, the person has the knowledge and qualifications to cure the ills of others--but when they need healing themselves, they cannot do it on their own. It requires the aid of another qualified individual, especially considering the very personal nature of confession. Hope this answers your question.

The pope has the Pope Confessor, which is a priest primarily charged with hearing the pope's confessions. The pope goes to confession regularly.

Technically, the Pope is not above the other bishops. There are only three Seals of Ordination -- Deaconate, Priest, Bishop. He is simply the first among equals by virtue of being the Bishop of Rome.

He confesses his sins to a priest should like any other Catholic. Papal infallibility does not mean the Pope cannot sin. It only means when he speak ex cathedra in union with the bishops of the church on matters of faith and doctrine, he does so without error.
The Church does not teach that the Pope is impeccable.

The Pope has a priest assigned as his personal confessor. He confesses the same way any other Catholic does, the way Jesus Christ provided when He told His first priests, "whose sins you forgive, they are forgiven them".
