tourmaline, You started so well. Then you fell into the religion trap. Religious is not always used in connection with religion. You can be a religious fisherman or eater of cheese pizza.

Julian, changing from Athiest to Fundamentalist to evil to good is so childish and one of the reasons Christianity is so screwed up.

Do you agree that spirituality is stepping beyond the physical, the tangible, and in many cases the provable areas of everyday life and into an area where even the universe is not a boundary to thought or belief?

-----Yes, and I also believe that the only way to do this is through the natural physical world and its energy.

Do you agree that the study, the thought, the imagining, of ideas, facts, and areas proven and unproven, assiduously and with diligence, is in the denotative realm of religious?

------Thats a very broad question LOL. I do see what you're saying though....and in which, I agree.

Do you agree that the demonstrating of both spirituality and the religious activity is the foundation of any and all religions?

----To an extent, yes. It is also used to give people a will to live, and keep people sane,. in other words "controlling them"....but not in a negative way, and thats not always the case.
Spirituality is the basic foundation of any religion though....its that feeling of being connected to that Divine essence most of us can feel.

Do you agree that all but the trolls and clones are equal members of the Religion and Spirituality Forum of Yahoo Answers if by words and positions on topics they demonstrate fulfillment of the three questions above?

------Yes, I just think some of them can't have a healthy discussion on religion or spirituality, they simply do not care.

1. No, I do not. It may be beyond our current capability to measure / probe / explore the spiritual arena. However, if it exists, then it can be measured, thus, it is tangible and physical.
2. Not exclusively - It could also be considered the realm of science as well.
3. No, I disagree here. I believe that religion is the attempt for people to explain what they cannot explain. Spirituality is the natural tugging of our souls towards something that is not in this physical realm.
4. I believe that they should all be respected, so long as they respect, and should be listened to, so long as they listen.

Great questions - made me think.

1. yes and no. - but i would think of it this way - the UNIVERSE includes all the opposites of existence. Spiritual and non spiritual practices, the here and the beyond, the physical and nonphysical, the tangible and intangible, the provable and unprovable areas of everyday life and is made up of both bounded and unbounded thoughts and beliefs. In fact it just is! Spirituality is just part of it.
2. no - all those things can and do exist apart from religion. i think that religion exists as man's attempt to interpret the unexplainable and control the behaviour through the teaching of rules, to 'force' the perception of 'enlightened behaviour' in the society. 'Enlightenment' is a state achieved in an individual through living and learning to validate one's own truth and becoming able to see beyond everyday thinking.
3.No - spirituality is very individual and questioning and seeking of personal awareness. The followers of religions live by a teaching formulated by man - and through this dependence on a 'leader', religious teachings discourage individual questioning and private seeking to find personal awareness.
4.No - all need to be included. It takes 2 to tango - Life exists as a blending of opposites. Angels and demons, light and dark, good and bad, happy and sad, love and hate, one cannot exist except in the presence of its opposite. A completeness comes through embracing both aspects of everything.

ok, you may desire to probable lose 2 factors for coherence. yet i will enable that slide for now. Spirituality would not unavoidably might desire to intend stepping previous the actual. My faith, Taoism, would not say something with regard to the international previous. It grants an uncomplicated thank you to stick to the ebb and circulate of life, and discover the area the place your capability resonates maximum harmoniously. relies upon upon the religion. If the religion is Buddhism, or Taoism, actually. If Christianity or Islam, then an emphatic no. No, Taoism has no actual non secular standards or regulations. You frequently in basic terms attempt to stay as authentic to what's organic as obtainable. Taoism might desire to truly be reported as a philosophy, by using western standards. even even though it relatively is a faith, and that's the wisest of all of them. No, trolls and clones are not equivalent members. no person is an equivalent member to all and sundry else, there are valuation concepts that are employed. a variety of of it is desperate by using your Yahoo factors and rank, and lots extra is desperate by using your organic genetics, psychological flair, and capacity to form. do no longer do this. i will might desire to checklist it as junk mail. Repeating questions often, i'm constructive, is going against the words and prerequisites.

Yes.

No. It denotes individual spiritual growth. Religion is the organized ritualistic mass-worship of one or more deities whose existence and attributes differ from one worshipper to the next (witness the differences of opinion between Christians in Y!A).

No. Spiritual growth comes from within. Religion is an external manifestation of temporal power.

No. Everyone who posts here, and those who read the postings, are equal members of this forum, given that there are no membership requirements other than the ability to connect to this site.

Who is to say who will be influenced by what they read or post, or in what manner they will be influenced?

I believe that spirituality is how we live life on this earth.
I believe it embodies the basics of religious beliefs, that we are meant to be honest, compassionate, humble and open minded, even to trolls and clones.
I believe that the dogma of religion clutters the mind with useless information and that at the heart of the teachings of Buddha, Jesus and Mohammed is a simple way to exist amongst the other sacks of meat roaming this planet.

Ok, without rambling (for once.) ;)

Yes.
Yes.
Somewhat (I see religion as that which encourages a personal relationship with the Divine, and spirituality as the personal relationship with the Divine. I do not believe that religious dogma and brainwashing is the same as or anywhere near as important as being close to Divinity.)
Yes.
Yeah, maybe that is what it's all about, kinda like the Hokey Pokey......

1. largely... depends on your definition of "stepping beyond." To me, it can be about theory or even suspension of disbelief, not necessarily faith/belief itself.

2. a bit vague, burt in the right ballpark. plenty of areas proven and unproven can fall outside of religion.

3. no. many (maybe most) organized religion or cults can be about control, with only flavorings of spirituality, not true spirituality.

4. yes.
