The traditional "Wedding March" is from an Opera by Wagner called "Lohengrin."

When I got married the first time (OOPS), I played "Elsa's Processional to the Cathedral," which is the song in Lohengrin just before the wedding march. It's totally pretty.

When I walked back down the aisle, I played "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure as everyone blew bubbles. It was a John Hughes moment.

That marriage was bad, but the songs at the wedding were great.

Classical music works well as a wedding march for a couple of reasons. A big reason is that it doesn't detract from the ceremony with lyrics. Or at least not lyrics that most of the guests understand. And it's easy to walk to. It also communicates to everyone what is happening.

So, play whatever music you want, but consider using something with a walkable rhythm and no modern lyrics. Most heavier bands have at least one song that is purely instrumental. Or sometimes, a edgy song is done by another group as an instrumental cover. Also, some modern bands record an album with a symphony orchestra. Don't give up on classical either, some classical music can be pretty intense.

Anyway, some artists that I can think of, with at least a song, that might fit your requirements:

Beethoven
Nine Inch Nails
Spriritualized
Buena Vista Social Club
Mari Boine
Lux
Scripture
Lamb
New Funky Generation
The Penguin Cafe Orchestra
Cirque du Soleil
Gershwin
The Gotan Project

And of course, consider soundtracks from your favourite movies.

One other thing to consider: the sound system and acoustics of your chosen venue. What might sound fantastic through your headphones can sound dreadful through crappy or misplaced speakers in a large, open space.

If all else fails, go to a music store and ask the oldest employees that you can find. They're the most likely to think of something that will please everyone.

Hello, I am getting married in June and I am going to be using the song You for Me by Tyler Perry. I was in the movie Madea's Family reunion. The words to the song are very appropriate I think. Here are the lyrics. Check it out.
Seems like forever
That I have waited for you
In a world of disappointment
One thing is true

God has blessed me and he’s blessed you too.
In a world of lonely people
I found you.

Take my hand
And hold me close
And love, love me close

You for me and me for you
Together we’ll make one
We were once strangers
All by ourselves
Living livin alone
With no one else

But here you are
And it’s so so sweet
God must have done this
Made you for me.

Take…take my hand
And hold me close
Just…
Ohh…said you for me and me for you
Said together will make one

We were always sleeping
Behind the bursting stars
Dreaming dreams of love
Wondering where you are

How blessed I am
That I found you
Now that you’re here
I pray to say I do

Take…take my hand
And hold me close
Just..don’t let me go
Said you for me
Said me for you
Forever together ya
We’ll make one

Take my hand
Said I want to spend
Together forever
Just you and me

Said I’m gonna love ya
The way you need to be loved
The way you should be loved

We had a Catholic wedding way back in the 70's. I wanted to use "Morning Has Broken", but compromised for another non-traditional song called Alleluia by Bob Hurd. Anything joyful would work. It's your wedding, enjoy planning the ceremony too.
