Ok my cat had her first kitten at 8:50 this morning. It has been 8 hrs and no sign of another kitten, but i felt her belly and there is at least one more in there. This is her first litter. I have already called the vet and they said this is normal. and for you people that will say get her spayed, she's getting fixed when the kittens are weaned. Any ideas???? One more thing the baby that is in there has moved down, Momma is content and is purring no signs of distress.

UPDATE: I just went in and baby #2 was born!! I guess she does know what she's doin. I think there might be one more not sure. The first one born is white with black spots, identical markings to momma, and baby #2 is all black. Thanks everyone. I guess i panicked for no reason.

My cat just had kittens and i panicked, but they know what they are doing and it is or was for me a long process, she is puring which means she is all good but my cat last kitten wasn't out until like 7 hours after the first. I did not know what to do as my cat was young herself but cats are awesome creatures and she knows what to do and will eat the sac and clean them, don't worry love leave her where she is and just keep an eye as over the hours you will see more, its so exciting and unreal. The little kitten is blind at the moment and is just sussing things out don't worry it sounds like your a good mum and when she is finished with all the kittens, put them in a cupboard with a towel and the mother stays with them always, its a beautiful thing to watch you don't have to do a thing, and just 1 more thing, the mother as she eats their droppings and cleans then, have a big kitty litter as the mummy will have diarea, good luck my friend and congratulations its unreal to watch them develop.

Give her some time. If she hasn't finished by morning call the vet and see what they say or if she starts to display distress call right away. Good Luck

Also, keep food, water, and litter handy for mama so she doesn't need to leave them too long. Avoid touching the kittens until their eyes are open [immunities have kicked in]
Take pix when they get bigger, and enjoy!

she will get them all out, just keep checking and make sure the kittens arent stuck you may have to help by gently pulling them out, but just observe until she is in distress, you will know when she needs you
