i need to know what program I can use to put an avi file on a cd

Any burning software can be used. You just burn it like any other file. Most popular are Nero, Alcohol, Roxio Easy Media Creator.
Also, there is CDBurnerXP Pro witch is free.

As what?

As an AVI file: any CD burning program

As VCD: you'll need to encode that to MPG1 first, shrink it to proper size, then author the VCD to the right format.

As something else: you'll have to tell us, we don't read minds.

i need to know how you want write it. if its data you can just copy it on DVDWR drive and press the file tab and chose copy this file on CD. other wise you can use Nero, in Nero you must first change them to *.DAT and after that burn it as media CD. it has so many way i wish you can do it by this two way. for more info please contact me. bye

if it fits and u dont need to convert .... just drag it to the cd icon in mycomputer and follow the prompts ...

windows media player will do it if you have detected your burner just burn it as data but i suggest using nero 6 if u can find it i have alot of problems with seven
