I am making a baby toy and I am trying to make a crinkley noise but I want it to be able to make the sound. Does anyone have any idea what they usually use and how I could duplicate this? I am doing it for a child development class.

wax paper. foil. or paper or maybe rice paper. buy a cheap toy from the store and cut it open and see whats inside

Use a hard candy wrapper. Ever see The Parent Trap (Lindsay Lohan remake)? One of the girls uses a plastic candy wrapper to imitate the sound of cell phone static. I thought it was neat and tried it myself.

It is a very stiff cellophane used to make the cinkley noise. See if they have any cello gift bags at the Dollar Store. You could cut it to the size you need.

The crinkly toys I have have thin plastic in between two layers of fabric.

How about mylar? It's like a crackly, thin plastic?
