No, its not illigal 2 join a gang, however, if the gang is blamed for any particular thing you could become a suspect.

its not illegal to join a gang,but most gangs have an initiation.
I lived in a gang infested area for 40 years and it used to be you were jumped(Fighting the main big guys in the gang) to get in,but in the course of time the new initiations are more sick and dangerous.for the guys its usaully a felony situation like a liquor store robbery/ murder/drive by(this puts the new gangmember/perp in a situation of being on the run so he wont tell on other gang members,since now he's a fugitive).
the girls are basically,if not tough enough passed around for sex/rape/ used for petty crimes,forgery etc.

They are called gangs and not clubs. It is not illegeal to join a gang but it can get you in trouble if the gang does anything wrong you could be guilty of complicity if they can prove you had anything to do with it.

No, but any illegal activity associated with a gang can get you an extra charge of being affiliated with "organized crime".
