the reason i put baby oil was because, some candle wax fell on top of his head,so i was trying to take it off, baby oil was the only way to make his hair soft to take the wax off his head,im not doing any animal abuse,im just trying to help my dog out

No. You should use mineral oil instead because it is food grade. Baby oil usually has a fragrance added. Since your dog will lick thier fir the fragrance can be a problem.
If you dog does lick the mineral oil off it's fur be prepared for lots of pooping also, since it acts as a laxative as well.
Putting oil on your dog sounds strange. Why would you do this anyway.

Any animal can have a reaction to any new substance. It should be OK - can I ask why you're putting baby oil on him though? If he has dry skin or something there are better alternatives, specially designed for dogs.

Not going to harm your dog. Baby hygiene are always hypoallergenic (won't cause an allergic reaction).
Must say I am a little curious why anyone would oil their dog though.

Why would you want to do that?? It wont kill him, but it will give him the scoots and a belly ache. Not to mention the mess he's gonna make sitting/laying on your furniture/bed and your own clothes. There are lots of pet safe products out there that won't make him sick. Go to Pet Smart or Pet Co.

Well, petroleum Jelly would be harmless and will work the same way as baby oil.. [well the gel kind]
Um, I don't think it is good if the dog licks it off afterwards.

my dog has very bad skin allergies and i give him baths in that Skin So Soft Bath Oil from Avon. just make sure you rinse him off really good or else he might feel greasy. It really calms him down and stops itching.

Than what can we put on our babies if all lotions contain these ingredients? What about those of us who are healthy today and our parents put these products on us? Some of us cannot afford the very expensive all natural stuff. Another question, if it is all natural why is it so expensive?

Why are you wanting to put baby oil on him. He should not be allowed to injest the baby oil.
