Yes, I agree. But it's not quite as simple as you suggest! There are billions of people going around saying the Bible means this, or that.... or it doesn't mean this, and it certainly doesn't mean that.... Interpretations abound and there is immense confusion as a result. In order to understand the Bible (and why do so many people denegrate this holy book by using lower case 'b' - bible?) we need the teaching of the Holy Spirit himself. That is why Jesus said "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you." (Jn 16:12-15) Those who follow Christ, who are born again and indwelt by the Holy Spirit, are so guided "into all truth". Praise God!

No the bible does not tell how previous the earth is. anybody who believes the earth is merely 6000 or 10,000 years previous isn't utilising their brains and refusing to look at good judgment and technological expertise. The earth is extremely previous and our time isn't comparable to God's time. there's no reason the two, technological expertise and faith can no longer exist at the same time. technological expertise solutions an excellent form of questions yet in doing so opens up the way for much extra complicated questions approximately existence and how it began. P.S. if it extremely is a photograph of you, you're alluring. =)

It depends on what religion you are. I personally am open to all religions and am interested in every religion there is. I think that if the Holy Bible makes you happy and makes you live a happier life than that is fabulous! I personally have never read the bible but i would love to one day study it! I am sure it is fascinating.
To think how much controversy a book can cause. A single book that contains so much information that is just beyond comprehension! It is absolutly amazing.
I think that many books make me happy. If there is one book that your whole life is devoted around, than that is just your personal choice. I am not sure everyone would agree that that is the ONLY book that makes people lead a happier book. What about other holy books of different religions? Think about that. Be open to things.

The scripture below shows the Bible makes us completely equipped for every good work, but to do that, we need to accept the whole Bible (All Scripture). I once heard an illustration regarding this scripture - Take your Bible and use it to guide you to draw a line down the center of a piece of paper - you then get a nice straight line. However, if you try and draw a line free hand, the line is not straight. We need the Bible in order to live good fulfillling lives - without that we can't be happy. So yes I agree with you.
2Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

I'm going to start this by asking if you've ever read the Koran, or other versions of the Bible. To make this statement without having all the information available is dismissing other peoples beliefs off hand. But no I don't believe that the Bible is the only book we need to live a happier life. Matter of fact to many people have used it as and excuse to murder, imprison, and enslave others.
By the way; I am a Christian.

Everything that we really need to live a happy and genuine life is most definitely right there in God's Word the Bible. Mankind could avoid so many mistakes if they applied Bible principles to their lives. If you think about it, all the books out their that people buy trying to find the key to happiness and a good life were written by people who are making lots of money from them! I would lots rather trust in our Creator, who knows how we are and what will truly make our lives joyous, than to trust in anyone making money off others, and really has no clue what truly makes us happy and that cannot add one second to our lives!!!
John 17:3: "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ."
I will spend my time taking in knowledge like this, with the gift of everlasting life! and it is free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the Bible is YHWH's message to mankind and His only-begotten Son showed us how to live according to YHWH's Word the Bible.
the simple fact is this; I have spent over 20 years now studying all of the major belief systems on earth from evolutionism to existentialism and I always come back to the teachings of YHWH's only-begotten Son Yhshua for perfection. If every human would live according to the teachings and example of Yhshua, this world would be unrecognizable! We would have no governments, no politics, no hate, no sorrow; death will be no more (Revelation 21:3-5) this is the future for the meek who serve YHWH and treat others as they wish to be treated.
agape!

I like
The Celestine Prophecy
by
James Redfield.
It doesnt tell you that mistakes banish you to hell. I like something that is passed on to more and more people through its positivity and heartfelt message rather than through fear.
Your Quote up there does one thing; it scares and threatens you into doing what it wants you to.
That is not god-like.
Before you disagree maybe you should read my book. Ive read and studied yours. Plus it supports christianity(didnt expext that huh) and doesnt bash anything or anyone.
To ask you a question
If a man lives the HOLIEST LIFE EVER on Earth, except for Jesus, dies and arrives at the gates and then is asked
"Who do you claim as your lord and savior?"
The man says Buddah.
Now he didnt claim Jesus with his mouth as his lord and savior and by "the book" that is the eternal sin.
So do you send the Holiest man ever to hell because he said Buddah?? By the text how can you not??
Im not interested in serving a god who is more concerned with receiving credit for the holiest man ever, instead of just being proud for creating (through any means) the holiest man alive.
Sorry I know I have no chance at winning because I dont have the exact same view as you.
But then again thats exactly what you have been taught to think......
Not very god like in my view

No, I don't agree.
Although I personally believe in the Bible and it is a part of my spiritual being, it is crazy to think that God intended this one book to be the only means through which we can find happiness. For one thing, the book is so open to interpretation that is pretty obvious that we reflect our own beliefs onto the book, thus rendering it useless. That is not to argue that the Bible is useless, because it is very valuable and a great guide provided for us. But your quote proves my point. You decide what you want to believe, and you can find a verse to support it. Even Satan did it in the Gospel when he tempted Jesus in the desert. Even Hitler did it when looking for justification to exterminate the Jews. The problem is people like you taking verses out of context. Now, considering the misuse of the Bible by so many people, how is a person supposed to determine all the truth on earth from it? Everyone who reads the Bible says something different. If there are universal truths to be found, then obviously they will need to be found from a number of different sources in order to cross-reference and determine the truth. Otherwise, the Bible is not trustworthy... not because it lacks the truth, because I hold that it does, but because of our inability to interpret it. We need help, and that help is coming from somewhere, be it God or science or experience, but not the Bible in itself. Frankly, I think God is too great to be limited to one source. He is a part of everything we experience. It is foolish not to look for him in all things.
