I don't think Atheists are empty, and I'm a Christian. I'm not going to offend or persecute anyone because of their beliefs. Ok, so you don't believe in God...so what? I'm not going to try and force you to. Atheists are human beings, just like anyone else. Maybe if we weren't classified as Christian, Atheist, Islamic, Jewish, then maybe we would just...be...we wouldn't be "labeled" as something based on our beliefs.

Maybe she just meant the ones who come here to insult and ridicule. I'm guessing one would have to be pretty empty to spend so much time in an area they say they have no interest in. Atheists say they have no spirits, so why are they in the religion/spiritual section? To learn? No. To discuss? Bashing isn't discussing. To debate? Then they don't understand the purpose of "question and answer", its not a debate board, there are boards for that, but this isn't it. Oh yeah, lets not forget the "to enlighten us", or "to educate" us, which is just as absurd as the debate answer.
So basically, if atheists are hanging out here all the time, instead of in an area they actually have an interest in, then yeah, I'd say there's something missing somewhere. It would be like me hanging out in the craft area to insult crafters.

I think it's because for religious people, religion becomes a big part of their life and that they feel if they were to loose that, their own lives would be empty. So they use the same analogy for those who currently have no religion/don't share their religion. I have to say Muslims generally do the same thing, but by observation I think it just isn't true. Those without religion just fill themselves with another way of life that pleases them and brings them just as much joy.

I would imagine a great many atheists are happy with their disbelief, otherwise they would not be atheists. You cannot miss what you have never had. However, I would feel empty if I were to lose my faith in God because it is a major part of what makes me have hope for myself and the world in general.

When I was in christian school, a football player came in saying his was empty until he found god. It's just that in christianity it is their goal to "save" people, and that without god they go to hell.
Ladybirrrrrd nooo :/ Don't think like that. If I were empty, I wouldn't have the loving family I have, my wonderful boyfriend, and a baby niece that I love to pieces. I wouldn't have a job I currently love, the aspiration to be a teacher and have kids of my own, or any kind of compassion. I'm happy with my life. Are you happy with yours?

No, in terms of knowing what will happen to them after death, and the purpose for living.
